Dungeon Roll and King of Tokyo

Picked these two games up at Barnes & Nobles with a Christmas gift card I got.

Both are easy to learn, fast to play and a lot of fun. Worthwhile getting the two expansion packs for Dungeon Roll and the Game Mat (a large on is available on Amazon for about $30, but you can get a smaller one at InkPlayMats.com for about $10)

I've played a few solo and a couple of 2-player for KOT and had a blast. Lots of solo games with DR. Anyone else give these a try?

I'm not familiar with Dungeon Roll, but I really enjoy King of Tokyo. Despite being easy to pick up and play, it has a bit more complexity that shows through as one learns more about the strategy of the game. Plus, it allows me to bellow across the table in monster speak. :D

We must have been doing something wrong with Dungeon Roll, we played it 4 times, and were so unimpressed with it we haven't touched it in over 5 months. Never played or bought the Tokyo game.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

I have yet to seen an episode of Table Top, but will have to check it out. Typically as I'm considering games I'll pull up You-Tube and check out "Watch It Played" or a Tom Vassal review on "The Dice Tower" (or one it's variants - Miami Dice, etc.)

Ref. the complexity in KOT, I can see that built in and is probably a lot more fun with a full compliment of players. Anyone try the expansions?

Ref. Dungeon Roll - it's a push your luck game, and wasn't at all interested with the kickstarter came out. Something about it - I mean the price was right, so I figured what the heck and it played fast. There is a Large and small mat out for it along with a couple of expansion for those of you interested.

I've found TableTop to be a great way of learning about new and interesting board games, though I also like Dice Tower. Also, after their crowdfunding campaign that was for season 3, they're going to do a tabletop RPG series (and Wil Wheaton also previously plugged C&C). But, for a nice confluence of fantasy and tabletop gaming, I have a soft spot for Red Dragon Inn played by the cast of Standard Action (under the Starlit Citadel channel).
