You can always use the browser version if the app version doesn't work.

I had the same problem upgrading the Discord App on Windows, still won't upgrade. But discordapp.com worked in chrome for me. Guess it's not for you.

Ah, OK. I am using Firefox in Win 10, so that may be the whole problem.

Skype seemed to work fairly well for everyone last night. Maybe we should think about going back to it full time.

Make sure if you use Linux that you are getting Skype from their site, if your package manager doesn't have the latest (Skype for Linux Alpha 1.16) . If your distribution has 4.3, it's the old Skype.

https://community.skype.com/t5/Linux/Sk ... -p/4434299

Or just use the browser-based version. Use chromium or chrome for best results.

It seems like if one person on the call isn't up-to-date sometimes the whole call won't go through.

Fun game last night, & I'm sooooooo glad we didn't go into that darkened room without dispelling the darkness. It also taught me I need to be more precise on saying what spell I'm using ... and I need to know the spell list better. I thought light was light was light, not that there is a 0 level light and then the 2nd level reverse of darkness - and yeah I now remember why I shy away from spell slingers, to much thought needed, Lupa looking cool with Dardo is so easy to remember, spells require toooo much thought - ;)

Rgr there. On coms I'm always the weak link, so plan on what works best for everyone else, and I'll adjust fire as needed as much as I can. I do hope the fiber optic does fix it, not only for gaming but so the wife stops complaining about her shows throughout the day freezing up - yes I'm hoping it helps for a purely selfish reason like her stopping complaining, not it making things better

poop, I just realized I messed up ... during the game, before we all rested to get spells & hp back up, I should have cast the divination then ... I hadn't used either of my spells for that level that day, so I could have cast it then rested and had the spell slot back the next day ... Another example why I'm not good at the spell slinging classes ...

Sorry I didn't make it on line last night.
T-mobiles excuse is they are upgrading 5 towers in this area, so internet AND phone was non existent for hours last night. They say this is going to go on for another 10 days or so. My wife explained to them that giving intermittent to completely non existent service to people for up to 2 weeks is not going to earn or keep them any customers around here. We told them we are already looking into switching to AT&T, and we haven't even been with T-mobile for 3 weeks yet! Crappy, crappy, non existent most of the day service is not what we pay for.

Sooooo you are saying it is like back woods Oklahoma internet service, until they get the fiber optic cables laid any way :D

Great BS session last night followed by a great game ... fighting those 2 demons (well a demon and a frog dameon) had me worried/ Especially when I hit a good solid hit on the frog and ... nothing ... Luckily 3 of you all had weapons good enough to hit it and rolled well on the damage!

Loved the evening ending with skeletons in the lake beating on Barleg for a bit. Until he got out of the water and we were smart about fighting them ... I guess it answered the question of what do you catch when you fish and use a half orc barbarian as bait

Great game last night, great 'mental teamwork' on those problems. I easily got some of them, but without you all, I'd have never had a clue on some of them!

Great way to finish it up back at town. Plus, good way to keep me from causing mischief with the town's evil clerics ... bringing in my family and their trade deal I helped put together. Yeah, that is a sword you can keep over Lupa's head for a long long time.

I do think we need to go free those slaves in the Hobgoblin strong hold right away, but after that we kind of need to do some work to make the border a bit safer ... Though I do want to follow through on the vendetta I have with that robber baron, we do need to earn our title of 'Warder of the East March'. However, after 6 months or so patrolling the border, helping set up better defenses etc (fast forwarded in one game if needed), and when the weather changes back to more safely sail back to the island, we should pay the baron and his 2 powerful henchmen, and his band of minions/men at arms a visit

So can I use this down period to start getting approval on spell ideas I have for this character?

Such as one idea I mentioned in his back ground write up?

"This Druidic Circle has also garnered enough favor from the gods of nature to have been granted a number of Divine spells specifically aimed at aiding in these "thief" activities. Such as a 2nd level prayer called "Stealth of the Deer" that gives a +5 Bonus to Hide and Move Silently checks for 1 Minute per level to the Druid/Thief, only. There may be higher level versions that give the bonus to others, and maybe even a whole group, much like a Mass Invisibility Spell (Depending on what Rigon approves), as well as a range of other prayers this Circle uses."

Plus another similar to this for Picking Locks and Disarming Traps, and a few other ideas I have had.

To get started:

Deers Stealth
CT: 1
Duration: 1 Turn (Minute) per level of caster
Level: 2 (Druid)
AoE: Caster
Range: Caster
Material: Holy Symbol, Hoof of a Deer, or similar

Effect: Bestows +4 bonus to Stealth and Hide checks in a non City environment. IE rural towns, villages, and similarly non developed communities, as well as any naturally wild areas. In a city environment, it only bestows a +2 bonus to Stealth and Hide checks.

Stealth of the Herd
CT: 1
Duration: 1 Turn/Minute per caster level
Level: 3 (Druid)
AoE: Caster and 1 additonal "target" per 2 levels of the Caster
Range: 10 foot radius, 20 foot diameter, centered on caster.
Material: Holy Symbol, Deer Hoof, and Deer Antler

Effect: As Deers Stealth, including limitations, but upon additonal allies of the Caster as well.

Tenacity of the Raven
CT 1
Duration: 1 round per level of caster
Level: 2
AoE: Caster
Range: Caster
Material: Holy Symbol, Thieves Tools, and Raven Feather, or live Raven present

Effect: Gives a Thief a +4 bonus to any time they use their Thieves tools to Pick Locks or Disarm Traps.

Tenacity of the Murder of Crows
CT: 1
Duration: 1 rnd/caster level
Level: 3
AoE: Caster plus 1 ally per 2 caster levels.
Range: 10 foot radius, 20 foot diameter, centered on Caster
Material: Holy Symbol, Live Raven, or 1 Raven feather per desired target of spell, plus each thieves set of Thieves Tools spell to be cast upon held in each Thief's hand.

Effect: As per Tenacity of the Raven.

Edit:

Form of (Animal)
CT: Full round
Duration: 1 Turn/Minute per level of Caster
Level: 3
AoE: Caster
Range: Caster
Material: Holy Symbol and touching living creature of type Druid wishes to transform into, or has a hide (or equivelent) of such a creature.

Effect: Allows Druid to Transform into a specific type of Animal, but not exactly identical to a specific animal. However, if it applies, the Druid's form can be so close to being identical as to confer a +5 bonus to fool anyone familiar with the original animal, and has cause to take a "closer look". This spell is typically used in order to infiltrate a settlement of some kind. So forms are typcially a type of dog, cat, local bird, etc... but can be any animal the Druid has the required Material for, and is no heavier than the Druid is. Once transformed they may only use the one shape for the duration of the spell. They may end the spell at any earlier time. Refer to Polymorph Self spell for any further guidance.

Edit 2:

Climb as an Animal
CT: 1
Duration: 1 rnd per level of caster
Level 2
AoE: Caster
Range: Caster
Components: V, M
Material: Holy Symbol and paw of animal known for Climbing (Cats, Monkey, etc...), or able to touch a living specimen at time fo casting.

Effect: Partially transforms Casters hands/arms and legs/feet to confer a +6 bonus to Climbing any climbable surface. So hands and feet will take on the animals features, such as claws, elongated digits, pads, etc...
If whatever is to be climbed is ruled as being easy for any such animal to do by the CK, the caster would then be able to do so automatically as well, IE no roll needed after the spell is cast. For example, a tree may be so easy to climb after the spell is in effect, the CK may deem no roll being necessary.

Speed of the Horse
CT: 1
Duration: 1 rnd/caster level
Level: 1
AoE: Target
Range: Touch
Components: V,M
Material: Holy Symbol, able to touch a living horse, or has a preserved hoof.

Effect: Adds 20 to base speed of Target. So a 30 base movement becomes a 50 base movement.

Edit 3:

Cause Illness
CT: 1
Duration: As per Illness, but when not being specific, 1 hour
Level: 2
AoE: Target
Range: Line of Sight
Save: CON
Components: V, S, M
Material: Holy Symbol

Effect: To cause a non lethal illness in a target. Onset is within 1 round. Symptoms will be of a campaign specific illness, or can be determined by Caster. Examples would be nausea, heavy sweating, feeling of weakness, etc... This spell is most often used to make a guard ill and less capable of being vigilant. Caster can have 1 symptom for every 2 caster levels per casting. So, as an example, a 3rd level caster can use this spell to cause food posioning, with extreme nausea and vomiting. A 5th level caster could add in vomiting from the other end. Penalties to any "Guard" checks should be within the range of -1 to -5. Additonal Material Components could be used to make the Targets save even harder. For example, rotten food when making the Target suffer from food poisoning could make their save 2 points more difficult. CK's call.

Cause Plague
CT: 1
Duration: As per Campaign Disease
Level: 4
AoE: Initially targets within a 20 foot diameter.
Range: Up to 50 feet.
Save: CON
Components: V, S, M
Materials: Holy Symbol

Effects: As per Campaign Disease. This is a "natural" disease that is simply triggered by this spell, and will be highly virulent, meaning it spreads quickly through a group or community. Within a week, if they don't start locking themselves in doors and avoiding contact with others sooner. Casters of Evil bent will cause Fatal Diseases. Others will simply use this spell to make living in the area unpleasant, and hopefully persuade unwanted communities to move away sooner rather than later. Additonal Material Components could add aditional penalties to the saves of the initial targets of the spell. For example, clothes worn by someone previously stricken by the disease could cause a 2 point penalty, CK's call.

Agreed on all the above. We'll need to formulate a solid plan before moving on Krell though, as I recall that stronghold had more than 50 men at arms that we saw, likely double that number. I suggest we not use the same costumes as before...

I'm going to spend my time in town trying to identify and research the history of the Giant Slayer sword. Is Yelden big enough to have those resources or will I need to find a large city with a Sage?
