The single best accessory produced for C&C.
What is it?
If we consider the 'core books' for C&C to be the Players Handbook and the Monsters and Treasure, then I feel that the CKG has been my favorite product produced by the Trolls outside of the cores.
And thou?

For crying out loud. Do your best with the rolls the dice have given you. This is what separates the men from the boys... -Kayolan

Classic Monsters, with Of Gods & Monsters a close second accessory to the rpg core (which I consider to be the PHB, M&T, and CKG).
Fields of Battle as a mass battle supplement, though I haven't used it yet.

Classic Monsters is high on my list, but the various screens rank very highly. Also, Engineering Dungeons. I love using it for the ability to rely on randomness and thus, go for the unpredictable. Combining that with the Dungeon Alphabet from Goodman Games and the PCs won't be able to guess what's next.

Classic Monsters follwed by the CKG (which isn't a core book at all.)

I'll flip Rigon's order...for me, the CKG, then Classic Monsters. I think Rune Lore and the AWD Folio is high on the list, too.Rigon wrote:Classic Monsters follwed by the CKG (which isn't a core book at all.)

I actually like the Codex's and Fields of Battle the most. After those would be Classic Monsters. Not sure how I would rank the rest. Aihrde supplements would probably be next. Then the Haunted Highlands books/modules. M&T of A would probably be next. Hard to really say, since it largely depends on what I am currently doing, so using the most. The good thing I can say is that there isn't a single C&C book I don't like. I like them all to some extent.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Yeah, that's true! Total brain fart on the Codex's. I would probably put them right behind the CKG for me.Treebore wrote:I actually like the Codex's and Fields of Battle the most. I own Dungeon Alphabet, even the new revised one, but I still much prefer to use Ultimate Toolbox, which is the Dungeon Alphabet x500.Litzen Tallister wrote:Classic Monsters is high on my list, but the various screens rank very highly. You're right, technically it's a "game master book" by TLG's definition. Essentially C&C only has one true core book, and that's the PHB. But, I still consider the three to be the core books for C&C, call me old fashioned.

I have all the accessory books for C&C and they are great and I used them.
For me, the best IMO is Fields of Battle!

Re: The single best accessory produced for C&C.
It's too hard to decide. If CKG is considered an accessory, it's certainly a contender. Fields of Battle is very underrated. I've owned it for years, but an acquaintance of mine ran it during a game last year. Works beautifully. There have been mentions of Classic Monsters and M&T of A. They're both awesome. Can't leave Engineering Dungeons out of the mix either. As Treebore says pretty much all of the C&C books have something to offer. OG&M, Towers of Adventure (boxed set-can't wait for the re-release), the codexes, and so many others. Not really a definitive answer, but the best I can do. Its like trying to rank my favorite Doctors from classic and new Doctor Who.
