I'm Back...Sorta

Post by Col_Pladoh »

Howdy Chaps,

I am well on the road to recovery now from the shingles, even though the old left eye is still bothersome when strained. At least I can read for short periods of time now without double vision. The doctor assures me that the eye is not affected. My main debility is a lack of energy that causes me to tire easily...especially after an hour working here on the keyboard.

Anyway, I hope to be able to come here every couple of days and manage short posts. If I have missed something you believe is critical, please email me with the URL for whatever it is:
ggygax@genevaonline.com

The doctors have advised me that the condition can persist for as long as six months. As I came down with shingles on 10 October, that means I had better be fully recovered by 10 April.

GO BEARS!!!

Gary

I was getting very concerned about you until I heard you made the LGGC. I hope to meet you in person at the summer LGGC and then again at GenCon.

I hope the rest of your recovery goes much faster and better than expected.

Take care of yourself.

Glad you're doing better and thanks!

I've hesitated to respond since I neither know you personally nor knew you were ill. But I am glad to hear you're recovering!

I've appreciated seeing your participation on various gaming forums, first noticing it on the old Eric Noah site back when 3e was just releasing, and seeing your continued participation since. Being an impressionable young lad back in 1983 when I first got into AD&D, your name was immortal to me because it was all over my books! 8) Thanks for remaining active in the gaming industry and on gaming fan and manufacturers message boards! You are forever my gaming inspiration.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Gary.

I have never been in contact with you before so I just wanted to say that playing D&D was some of my best childhood memories. I am 35 now with a wife and a child, still gaming making more memories ...and more kids.
All the best and thanks!

Heh,

How can a real gamer not keep on gaming.

As I mentioned on the Dragonsfoot boards a couple of minutes ago, I hope that I'll be able to have an adventure ready for the June LGGC, and perhaps the Nine Dancing Demons springboard I have on hand will serve for that. We shall see...
Cheers,

Gary

If not, you may want to try the "Eight Maids a-Milking" adventure. . . .

Well...

The main catch with this blasted condition is that it tends to drain one's energy, just as if it were a case of flu. The eyes still pangs now and then, but it is becoming tired relatively quickly that keeps me from doing creative work...and GMing
Cheers,

Gary

Hope you continue feeling better!

Thanks again to all you Good Well Wishers
I must say it is heartening to be feeling well enough to be posting once again...and able to be at the computer for more than a half of an hour or so without feeting worn out.

Cheerio,

Gary
