State of the Game
State of the Game
Hi all,
I haven't been around in quite a while - real life mostly getting in the way of gaming - but looking to start playing again.
Having playtested C&C and purchased up through I think around the 4th printing of the books, I was just wondering what was going on with the game,
and what might have changed? I see there was a Kickstarter for the core books that I missed, and see lots of supplementary books.
Have the basic rules changed much at all with the latest Player's Handbook printing?
What's been added to the rules through supplements that I might want to check out?
Thanks.

Re: State of the Game
No major changes to the core rules. Just full color printings and some errata clean up.
Rune Lore adds a class (the Runemark) and a new magic system (Rune magic).
The Codex Celtirum and Codex Nordica are cultural books for Celts and Norse. It has new monsters and classes based on those cultures. They are really well done.
The Book of Familiars is a redo of the same book from the d20 days.
The Haunted Highlands got it's own PHB and CKG.
The new Codex of Airhde is in the final phases of production.
The A series of modules is complete, except for Aufstrag (which Steve is working on that).
The C series of modules has been expanded. C4 is being released in installments and C5 will be done the same way after C4 is completed.
The Tome of the Unclean is a monster book of Demons and Devils (also being done in installments).
There is more that I can't think of right now, but if you go and look around at the TLG Store (or RPGNow), you'll get a better idea of what all has come down the line recently.
Also, glad to see you are back.

Re: State of the Game
The 6th printing PHB also has expanded text explaining how the SIEGE engine works. It doesn't change the rules, it just provides more explanation. The big rules changes were between 3rd and 4th printing, so you are good to go.

Thanks for the recap and welcome, guys.
Sounds like there is quite a bit of material to catch up on.

Yes, C&C is definitely now what can be called "well supported" with its own dedicated materials. Another big one Rigon forgot is the Haunted Highlands CKG and Players books. Lots of other smaller projects too, such as Kalas, so be sure to check through the catalog.Melkor wrote:Thanks for the recap and welcome, guys.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Actually, they are in Rigon's list.Treebore wrote:Another big one Rigon forgot is the Haunted Highlands CKG and Players books.Melkor wrote:Thanks for the recap and welcome, guys.

Along with Kalas, I'm a big fan of Bluffside: City on the Edge. I don't think I'd ever run Bluffside BTB, but there is lots of stuff there to steal, from plot hooks to NPCs to monsters to new spells.

Obviously I read too fast and skipped over it.
