Lots of good old threads....

Post by Daniel »

I have been going backwards and reading some of the older threads. There is some great conversations and ideas just waiting to be mined out of there.

Yes, I am resisting the temptation to necro some threads, but I just have to say: There is quite a bit of good stuff here.

Well, we are a rambling bunch. And the beauty of C&C is that you can tweak it as much as you want and it won't break.

Please feel free to resurrect older threads. I think most of us don't mind since most of us probably commented in them!!

This does make me curious, I wonder what the average age of active members is on this forum.

Probably ranges from young fellows like me (18 and I like it . . ) to old bastards around 59!

Might be time for another age thread with a poll!! :)

Methuselah has nothing on some of the folks here.

I, for example, am older than I would like to be guessed.

I don't care if folks know how old I am as long as they don't hold it against me. LOL

I'll be 50 before too long, and damn glad I reached it, if I do!
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I can say that as well. :D

But the real fun question is how close to 100 are we.

According to the wiki I found, average US male life expectancy is 77. 64% of the way to dead for me...

That figure isn't to what age a male is going to live once they make to adulthood. That is an average. It figures in infant/child death, etc. An almost useless figure by itself.

Well. This thread took a depressing turn: I wasn't expecting to scroll down the page and come face to face with my own mortality. :(

On a brighter, if somewhat related, note: I'm glad to see the members of this board don't mind resurrecting old posts. I'm also a newbie around here and would love to put my $.02 in some of the threads that have come and gone, but I've been taken to task many times on other boards for that, so I've always been leery about it. It's exciting to see that this board is different... I may have to do some mining a little later! :ugeek:

Sorry, after the last 4 days I'm in a very odd mood and my brain is in a bit twisted.
