Bard's Tale IV by InXile

Post by TheMetal1 »

Well it looks like Bard's Tale is making a return and will be done by the same guys who did Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera

Looks cool. I remember my friend playing Bard's Tale on his Commodore 64 back in the day. There is a Bard's Tale app out there that comes with the original 3 games as well.

I've backed it. I played the original 3 games too - while simultaneously trying to learn how to read. Maybe that's why I'm so big into gaming today!

Dammit tempting! :x

Arggh! Just when I swore off computer gaming.

And then I read today that a recent Steam update showed a Half-Life 3 logo, but was later taken away in a subsequent update.

Probably some joker at Valve, f'ing with HL fans.

Anyway, this game looks great from what I can tell.

Backed it... very excited. Wasteland 2 is awesome, and I think they will nail it with this game as well. I'm a fan of the original Bard's Tale games.

The series is great.

I just don't know if I want to play a computer game.

I don't know about HL3 but there is a mod that redoes HL1 in the high res textures etc. of HL2 if you are interested: http://store.steampowered.com/app/362890/

Bard's tale was the first game I ever hacked. We figured out where the items were stored in a file, and started messing with the codes to give ourselves different items from the game.

The amusing thing was [spoiler for the first series=can't remember which one]

.

.

We gave ourselves the items for the super magic item and then went back to consult with the wise old Gandalf mentor who had been guiding us all along, to figure out what to do with the thing, and he attacked us. Turns out he was the evil over lord as well! Haha. Would have been funny to see our pre pubescent faces in a picture when we clicked to interact with our "mentor"

Thanks, good sir!

I knew they were doing this, but long ago forgot about it until recently.

DL'ing now.

I backed BT4 as I did WL2. InXile is doing things right and doing them well.

When I get some free time I will be able to actually play WL2.
