CK/GM Screen?

Post by zacharythefirst »

Hey guys,

While I'm waiting for my FLGS to deliver my brand-newe copy of C&C, I wanted to know if anyone out there had done a screen for the game? I see there's one coming out from TLG, but it hasn't been released yet. Any fan-created ones out there in the mean time? And any udea when TLG's screen will be released? Thanks!

Look at Travellers links.

The CK screen is supposed to be available today, if I read the post about it in "upcoming Products" correctly.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Sometimes even I think I practically live on these boards.

Traveller's CK Screen is AWESOME, period.

We can only hope that the official screen was shipped and will be available very soon.

I'm getting a 404 error when I try to access his files still. I've been trying for the past few days.

Yep, Travellers screen IS awesome! I printed it out and made my own with some cardboard, acetate overlays to protect the printed pages and put some old 2E fantasy artwork on the outside. Thanks Trav!!!

I just stapled it over my D&D 3 DM screen. Won't be needing that anymore ...

I've got 'em paper-clipped to my 2e screen. That way I can take a stroll down memory lane if I want to a play a little 2e. Yeah, Traveller's screen is awesome.

Got it--thanks--think the problem was on my end.

Ditto! Has served me well for a long time now. Although the Masterscreen is starting to crack on the fold-creases...

My version of the customized screen is a sideways/landscape configuration. Not as useful unless I want to read stuff sideways.

I really wish more GM screens were in this format. The 11" tall screens really create a barrier between you and your players, when all you need is a bit of screen to hide some die rolls and your scribbled quest notes. Three landscape panels is plenty of information, and provides you the cover you need, but still allows for easy eye contact and the ability to see what your players roll without peering around or half getting out of your chair to see over.

See, I've always hated landscaped screens because they require me to hunch over and squint to read them. I never had a problem seeing over the portrait oriented ones, and they're much easier to read.

I've been told that triple-fold menu covers work like a charm, though I suspect to get them to stand you'd have to put card stock in them. You can usually track them down on ebay or with a web search, though you may have to buy them in groups so you may want to find some friends who also want a customizable screen

That was never a problem for me, since I only have to reference them once or twice a session, at most. I have most of the "rules" memorized, and how often (per session) do you need to know the price of a battleaxe? A good screen is primarily (for me), a screen, not a reference sheet.

Ya! There is another company out there that makes a customizable quad-fold screen (can't remember the name though). Anyways, this new 4-panel custom screen is said to be just AWESOME; highly durable.

The new version RQ screen is pretty durable, think of the difference between a softcover book and hardcover book and you get the idea.

I think there's a chance the CK screens will start shipping out to us who've ordered them tomorrow or wednesday.

I've seen this on Noble Knights ... really NICE. I considered it briefly but the the CK screens started to really get underway.

All I know is I had placed an order for the CK screen and a few modules I was missing and I received an E-mail stating the whole order *should* ship in the next couple days.

I put in for the screen (along with M&T) at my FLGS this week. We'll see when it comes in!
