Isn't it interesting how perceptions can change over time?

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I've used this type of map to show my players when they complain about their own large scale maps being inaccurate...

I'll have to remember to do that if I ever have anyone make such a complaint!

It had a side effect of them getting REALLY curious about what is incorrect about their maps. Pushed them out of the nest so to speak.Treebore wrote:Arduin wrote:I've used this type of map to show my players when they complain about their own large scale maps being inaccurate...![]()

The one I like the most, thus far, is the Piri Reis map. Mostly because it was featured prominently in a Shadowrun campaign.
Otherwise, I make some use of the style.... change details here and there. I'm not generally fond of using the real world for my games, though some exceptions can be fun.

I use them for my Western RPGs and Twilight 2000 games, and even post Apocalyptic. I'm thinking I can even use them for RIFTS.

Knowing the tools they were using, it is impressive how accurate some of them are.

I've always loved maps like that!
I tried to use things like that back when I DMed, and tried to make my own home brew to look like them.
