There's a lot of variety with the Bravo, basically it's more of a fighting style and attitude than anything, and they can be found in any society in one form or another.
I've been working on my backstory all day while I was at work so I have a good idea how too make it work.

I have a name picked out and a backstory (similar, yet different to Luppa's). Just need to get everything typed up. I should have time to do it at some point tonight.

Ok, so there are a few things that are incorrect with your Avatar:

1. When you choose your 5th Ability at 10%, you do not add in any points to your Base Ratings for that Ability. So your Unarmed Combat does not add a point to Health, Precision and .25 to Speed.

2. When you start at 9th Rank or higher (which is lower numerically), you bypass all of the bonuses the previous Ranks would give, you only add the bonuses for 9th Rank, and then whatever you get for 8th Rank if you have a high enough Swashbuckling Ability, in which case you do.

3. The 5th Ability will always start at 10% no matter what for all beginning Avatars. Even if your Rank says you add to it, this is not the case for starting Avatars in that Rank, but only for those that work up to that point through play.

4. I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but you can only take one cash option pick among all of your list picks, that means one cash option only, not one for each list allotment. Multiples of the same items are allowed, and remember, you get a free sword of your choice for being an 8th Rank Bravo.

Here is your adjusted Avatar Record:

Lurker, your Archery Ability should be at 10%, all starting Avatars have their 5th Ability at 10% regardless of any Rank bonuses. Later this can raised through play however.

Aergraith, noticed your Savagery is at 17% (as your 5th Ability). As a starting Avatar your 5th Ability must be at a fixed 10% despite any bonuses your Rank says to the contrary. This Ability can of course be raised in the future.

What people?

It's a crap, shit, and a stupid attempt at a clone! The clown that wrote it is a moron and was quite adversarial towards Gary. His "clone" is awful and "soulless"!

:x
I saw some positive feedback for PJ in this Dragonsfoot thread. I have not looked at PJ personally and was only passing on what I've heard. Yours is the first really negative review I've seen (admittedly, I haven't really dug into things to see what people outside that DF thread have to say). Looking back at that DF thread, it points out that PJ added stuff onto the skeleton of LA, so it's probably not a useful clone that would have allowed someone to play in an LA game seamlessly anyway.

Enough about PJ. I'll get my nose out of this thread and let it get back on topic. Have fun with your LA game, guys (and gals).

Good catch, I missed it (I had notes on progressing and improving abilities and such. I must have jotted down the wrong score when I typed it up. I'll double check all the other scores to make sure I didn't mess anything else up).

One question, a lot of the abilities have overlap with other abilities. Is it ok that I tied my ranging ability with some of the hunting abilities. It does refer to hunting and poaching in the ranging explanation. But, I a not sure I didn't over emphasize the hunting effects of ranging in my background and how I picture my character being.

Ranging and Hunting do have a lot of overlap, both can be used to hunt game.

Yeah, thats one of the challenges for generalizing skills so broadly, but I like it, since that is to a great degree how I treat such things in my C&C game. Just there, it is all tied to attributes, rather than broad skill categories. Of course, if my House Rules are ever followed, skills can get quit specific.

I can answer any questions you have before then, it's actually not as complicated as it may seem. I'm up for doing a Skype call as well if you want, that goes for all of you guys working on your Avatars.

Do we have to buy a saddle separately from the horse? I am guessing they are included since they were not mentioned in the creating of the Noble character as being needed. Then again, for some reason, saddles are not a pick on any of the lists, and considering how expensive they are, only someone who can get a pick on the High list would even have the coin to buy a Saddle, riding and War at $5,000.00. So again, I am inclined to think Saddles, etc... are included in the purchase of the various riding horses, and the War saddle with the War Horses. That, or they should be added as picks on the High and Military lists.

I was assuming my Horse, Pack has packs too. Or some kind of rig to hang my personal packs from.

Cool! Yeah, that is something that should be clarified right there, so lets start an errata list. A certain someone who lives in Austin is good at record keeping and annotating, etc... So I volunteer him!

Question for Kayo:

In the LR4AP (page 18), it shows 2 methods for ability picks for non-human avatars to be determined by the LM.

Which one will you use?

Thanks! :)
