I AM looking forward to the game. However, like I mentioned in my "fork" thread, I'll have a painfully long day that day with my doc appointment and the traveling time to get there and back.

Soooooooo, I may zombie out once or twice during the game, and if I fall asleep someone may need to blast an air horn to wake me ...

I just noticed your character.

You know, he would fit in to my back story. If you like, I could add that we have trapped and hunted with each other before, or met and shared beer and stories with each other at the, as you call them "forester rendez-vous". That way there is an easy thread to tie at least 3 of the party together.

Now, as for the ilf and the swashbuckler ... I don't know who would ever want to associate with a swashbuckler anyway so ..... :lol:

Yeah, I was wanting to chat with him about weaving our characters together. I have my SKYPE up.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

What's the diameter of a command circle or a protection circle (necrourgy)?

I thought I saw this somewhere but must have imagined it. Didn't see anything in the rules or the LML.

Hopefully, it's large enough to get the whole party into . . or those summon spells are going to be dangerous or worthless!! :lol:

Let's go with about 10 ft. in diameter. That would be large enough for a group of Avatars as long as they stand, sit, or lay close to each other. Two uses of materials could produce an even larger circle.

I told Treebore this just recently, and I should mention it here, that materials needed for circles, rites, invocations, etc. count as 12 uses for each pick taken from the Magical List.

The rendezvous stuff I got is from historical "mountain man" gatherings.

But we'd adjust it of course to the campaign world. I just wanted a woodsman background that wasn't aragorn, robin hood, or the usual tropes.

I'm open to shared background stuff.

Rgr on the rendezvous. Been to some of them (or something like them) . As a history guy I've loved them and 'living history' . To my wife's dismay I can spend hours watching them throw axes, shoot, etc and she makes sure I never go by the smith demonstrations ... I'd spend days there alone.

For background, the easiest is something like our families knew each other, and with your age, you could have been friends with one of my older brothers or younger uncles (I do come from a large family) and as such we have helped each other run trap lines, set up trapper's cabins etc. Heck, it could have been one of your cabins I was heading to when the girl broke through the ice, and you cabin and the emergency supplies you left for an emergency is what saved her and my life

As you are a true huntsman, and I'm a scout, I'll admit that you are the better hunter etc, but it is close, and you are a much better bow shot than I am. However, I'm better at the actual stalking and have a better eye for setting up an ambush and such.

On the Magical List for equipment picks, you will see that there are Necrourgy command and Necrourgy protection circle materials (listed separately). These must be chosen as picks if you wish to have them, each pick will be enough for 12 uses each.

Remember folks that you do not add in the base rating bonus from your last ability you have at 10.

For those of you playing non-human avatars, you do not add in the base rating increases for mandatory abilities, only chosen abilities. The mandatory abilities base rating increases have already been figured into your racial mods.

Lurker, you do not have Archery at 5 but at 10.

Ok rgr, That is what I thought at first, but then convinced myself that it was 10% of precision not just a straight 10.

Random rule that might be notable for a group comprised almost entirely of warriors (and no healers)

1. "Health loss from any cause is restored normally at the rate of 1% of the Base Rating per game day. Thus, an avatar reduced to zero hit points will not regain full health again until 100 days have elapsed"

2. Kayolan: "healing potions etc. are rare"

3. We have no healers

Prediction: room 3 of the dungeon. party needs to rest after 2 gruelling combats so they leave for town and do not return for 3 months. By the time the party returns, not only has the bandit chief killed the hostages the party was sent to release, but the area has now been thoroughly gentrified and there are now two Starbucks and a Chuck E Cheeze where once there were only bandit caves. ;)

Welllllllll, the first character I made (the book hunter) can easily be modified to have theology as a low end pick. That will give him a few heal type spells.

However, he will be a stranger from a strange cold land ....

Plus, playing a magic user is a weakness of mine even in D&D (which I well know) so I'll be a bit out of my depths as a spell slinger (even a minor one) in LA.

But, if no one else wants to play a healer type, I will.

I'll have him prepped and ready to post if no one else makes one by tomorrow after evening church.

No need to change characters. Everyone should play what they think will be most fun for them

I posted the above because I happened to ask Kayolan how healing worked and was surprised to hear it takes 100 days to heal to full (from zero) and magical sources for healing other than party spellcasters will be hard to find. That's fine for a game with few combats, but with our fighter heavy party, and our play style ;) , we may find ourselves taking quite a few 3 month vacations :lol:

I'm never good at a magic (arcane or divine) based classes. The closest I come is either a paladin or a multi class with the cleric as a secondary class to the main one.

I also agree with the fighter heavy party and our style of play we will need healing of some type ... The up side, even on my scout, I used a lot of picks to by curative salves. It wont replace a heal spell, but it is better than nothing.
