The New Website

Post by alcyone »

I've been holding my tongue, but here goes: I don't like the new TLG website!
  • It opens on my 2560x1440 the same way it would on my phone.
  • For the first 9 seconds it shows nothing but 3 pulsating dots. I have gigabit fiber to the home.
  • Once it loads, your choices are:
  • Abuse your mouse wheel scrolling to find what you are looking for. When you don't find it, scroll back up.
  • Now you can choose between a circle and 3 lines. Let's say I am looking for the forums. It's not on the front page. Is it a circle thing? Or a line thing?
  • Doesn't matter! Both show the same menu.
Whoever designed this, I am a software developer. You have my sympathy. I am sure you did what you could with what you were given and told.
This site doesn't seem like it's going to bring in more players or help them get to places like this forum though.

Agree. It went from bad to worse! :x

They need to re-acquire hamsters to either power the site or design it!

I'm not sure where they were going with it. I don't care for it. New folks will definitely have a hard time finding the forum.

Yup. I had several issues with it as well. No links to the Society/KotC pages was one of them. Much less intuitive and harder to navigate was the other.

I don't really use the new site but I do not like the new skin for the forums. Even with desktop request in my browser, it still resets every click when viewing from a tablet. I guess it makes it "prettier" but I personally find it annoying. Not really a huge deal... just means I don't read anything here until I get to a real PC.
