Many came from near and far to take part in the bi-century battle o the mages. It was an event that saw many wizards, from low accolytes to archmages spell deul. The last event took place 200 years ago, and Archwizard ZZZ (nobody knew his real name, but it was guess to be Zul) was victorious. So impressed with his win, Ao placed a longevity spell on the wizard so he could crown the new winner.
However, an evil sect of battlemages were able to breech the strands cast to protect each participant. Cyric, the crazed god wanted to sabotage the event, just cause he could. Any spells spun by casters wasn't suppose to do real damage. Killing castings were suppose to just be a victory for the caster. None of that protection held as it was suppose to.
The real affect was evident the night of the victory assembly all wizards were required to attend. Minutes after ZZZ crowned the winner; a dark lord named only as T-rod, people began dropping. Some were only mamed, an arm here, a leg there. Some wizards simply disappeared, their location unknown, others disintegrated or were killed by acid, fire, lighting and so on. Luckily for Reid, he lost early and was only subjected to a sound burst effect. He lived, but his right eye was destroyed. He walked away in a daze. Rattled, but still alive.
He wanders now, seeking information on T-rod, who winked at ZZZ and gated out of there with his title in check. Over a year has past and no closer to the real identity of T-rod. Each person he passes stares and he often hears talks behind his back at taverns and Inns. He stayed to long in his last town amd was named Mad Eye Reid. He was tired of the comments one evening, drinking to himself. He removed his eye patch to a group of ruffians and subjected them to the craziest, most twitchy, half missing, yellow eyeball humanity has ever set eyes on.
Reid is hoping to meet able minded companions and help him located information on T-rod, and bring him to justice for all the arcane madness inflicted on so many that wicked day so long ago...

Bertram fled in terror twice after hearing the disembodied voices calling out to him inside that house, never before did fear so overcome his mind. You can imagine how shocked he was when, after further exploration he caught a man in the cellar with a bottle of wine in his hand sneaking out through a hidden door. Perhaps there is more to this "haunted house" than what was mentioned back at the tavern. He wants answers!

ALSO, if i skeleton is sitting a chair clutching a small object, DO NOT simply grab the item from its hand.... it doesn't end well
