Needing cool adventure module for 1st level party.

Post by slimykuotoan »

Can anyone suggest a good module for beginning level characters?

I'd prefer something that includes overland/ wilderness outdoor stuff.

Suggestions can be for any adventures that can be converted to C&C.

Starting out with C&C-specific stuff, there's Fantastic Adventure. It's mostly outdoors-ish, with a dungeon. I haven't run it yet, but from reading it seems like a good starting off adventure.

Crucible of Freya (it's an oldie now, but still a goodie), or Grimmsgate from Frog God Games.

I like Becon of Enon Tor. It's an old White Dwarf adventure that was converted to C&C at the beginning. It's pretty straight forward, but still fun.

Book of Ruins from Judges Guild could contain a gem or three for sites to explore on the way to somewhere. Combined with other modules, perhaps Trial by Fire or The Ilhedrin Book and you could have an interesting low-level exploration thing.

Rgr that, I've ran it a few times and adjusted it here and there, but it was a good one

B2 The Keep on the Borderlands (has a small area of wilderness adventuring)
B5 Horror on the Hill (has a small area of wilderness adventuring)
B10 Night's Dark Terror (has quite a bit of wilderness adventuring)

Also L1 The Secret of Bone Hill comes to mind. It's for levels 2-4 and has some areas of wilderness adventuring.

These would be easy to convert to C&C and all are available as pdfs at RPGNow.

Or maybe you are looking for something newer probably?

Crucible of Freya is awesome. It's such a simple set up, but is a perfect balance of sandbox and narrative adventure.
