Which books do you use when you're gaming?

Post by slimykuotoan »

I use the sixth printing flipbook, or the second printing PHB and the first printing M&T, when I gm.

When I play, I use the first printing PHB.

For Kayolan's Aihrde campaign with my character Aethelrand, I use the third printing PHB for some reason. (probably because it's Kayolan's favourite)

And thou?
For crying out loud. Do your best with the rolls the dice have given you. This is what separates the men from the boys... -Kayolan

6th edition PHB when playing. 6th edition Flipbook when running my Sunday game. I also have Classic Monsters handy when DM'ing. A lot of the monsters in the series I'm currently running came from the original Fiend Folio.

Primarily, I use the 6th printing Flipbook, Classic Monsters, 1e DMG, 2e MM, the CKG, and whatever campaign book I am running at the time.

None of my players have C&C books, so I usually bring both of my PHBs (4th and 6th printing) and put these out for players to access during the game.

On the GM side, I typically bring M&T (4th printing) and Classic Monsters (1st printing). Right now the group is adventuring in the Ludensheim area of Aihrde, so I also have Blacktooth Ridge and Slag Heap at my disposal.

Usually that old dog eared copy that is printed on the synopsis of my old brain.. I find I rarely open a book much anymore.. when I do its to look up something simple... but the three sisters usually does it for me. I like to make my players actually read the thing they're trying to do from time to time.. like the druid trying to cast color spray ;}
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

Classic Monsters
Tome of Unclean printouts

Usually one NG/FGG supplement or adventure.

Just the 6th printing PHB and 3rd printing M&T. I use the digest versions at conventions. I usually just look up spell effects.
