I looove the way I do multiclass now.

Just add the classes together, total the xp, average the hit points, take the best bth, and combine the abilities.

Perfect and simple.

For under 10th lvl, I think the math works out to be about one level below.. so sounds good and sound more or less old school ADD, right?

Lastly, triple multi? Any combination restrictions?
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

Well, there might be some weird stuff, like Knight/ druid.

But no, I don't think there's be a need to arbitrarily ban combos.

Kayolan did a good write up of how leveling would work:

Well, let's take a look at how this would pan out over the long term;
factoring in long term play, the difference is quite remarkable.

While in the beginning, we see that yes, there is only a slight difference in
levels between the multi-class druid/barbarian and his single class
counterparts. However, once you get to the higher levels, the gulf widens
considerably. Once you take into consideration who is going to be getting
their high level magics first and how long will it take for the multi-class PC
to get his, it is quite a difference indeed. Also, if you use the CKG rules for
what benefits characters gain at higher levels, the difference is even more
advantageous to the single class character.

It's easy to see how multiclass done this way would balance well.

I'm now thinking a dwarven druid/ rogue would be ultra cool.

I do everything just like AD&D, but they average levels and round up for things like saves and checks.

I use similar house rules for multiclass rules as well. I also round up on hit die. A Fighter/Wizard has 1d8 for HP, but limited to chainmail armor as far as casting goes and cannot cast while holding a shield.
