Who here likes playing rangers?
...
For crying out loud. Do your best with the rolls the dice have given you. This is what separates the men from the boys... -Kayolan

Only when a dwarf or gnome. Otherwise, not so much.

Re: Who here likes playing rangers?
Nice class, but if a wilderness adventure I prefer the druid.

Subterranean Rangers rock.. all pun intended.
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.
Re: Who here likes playing rangers?
I've played them, just not very often.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Re: Who here likes playing rangers?
Well, if Paladins are my favorite class rangers are my second (well they may be tied with a fighter/thief 'swashbuckler' type class)
All in all I'd say ranger fits my real self and interests best of all the classes, so it is a natural fit for me.

I can only think of a few times when I haven't played one. I have issues with change...

I haven't yet had the opportunity to play C&C, but I'd like to play a C&C ranger. I like the fact that the C&C ranger has no spells and is more of a vanguard of civilization against the wilds than a druid with a sword.

Re: Who here likes playing rangers?
I love the C&C Ranger class. It is easily my favorite class to play. I cannot stand what recent versions of D&D have done to the Ranger class...too magic-based. Even 5e (which I like second only to my beloved C&C) has screwed up the Ranger. I see the C&C Ranger as a special-forces-like class for medieval fantasy.
Re: Who here likes playing rangers?
Aren't all of the Fighter types except the fighter "fighters with skills"?
Personally, I miss those few spells at higher levels. They were never combat spells, just flavor spells.

Rangers are probably my favorite class, though fighter gives it a run for it's money. When I want the survialist, live-off-the-land type, I go ranger.

Thank you sir! I've been here and there. I'm lurking mostly these days. Don't know why, really. I guess I've tried to spend less time on the 'puter and more time with the wife and kids.
I guess should +1 your G+ posts more often...nice "damaged" books, by the way!

Re: Who here likes playing rangers?
Thanks guys!
It's been busy around the old castle - wife's back in school (nursing school, after being a teacher for 17 years); I'm in school, trying to finish my Bachelor's (Criminal Justice); kids's got me running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Not to mention work, trying to keep house, and getting in two gaming sessions a month in.
All that being said, it's good to be back. I don't know how long it'll be, but I hope to stick around!
