Kobolds Ate My Baby (Friday Night Game)

Post by Penny-Whistle »

And now for something completely different ... This Friday: Kobolds Ate My Baby. Same Time. Same Place.

The rule book can be found at http://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/ ... evel-Games
It is an amusing read and the illustrations are sweet. It has received a lot of good reviews.

The character sheet is free and can be found here: http://www.koboldsatemybaby.com/KAMBSDE_REF.pdf

I'll have a cheat sheet for character generation at Roll20 if you want to see what the game is like before committing to a purchase.

The Roll20 character sheet will allow you to generate a very quick character just by pressing buttons.

Glad to hear it.

I had heard of the game, but never read or knew anything about it.

Then, when Penny mentioned it in our online game thread - I knew any game that she was interest would be excellent as we've played several now that have been a load of fun.

Looking forward to this game!!!

Thanks Penny! :)

Penny, you mentioned the fun of reading the game book and I agree. It's hilarious and fairly well written! I'm only on page 14, but I'm enjoying it!

Two kobold thumbs up!

Friggin' funny that my char Glub loses his arm and doesn't pick it up and put it in his back pocket or robe. But, Brrp finds it and uses it for dinner . . and many other disgusting cooking scenarios.

The more I read . . . the more disgusting next week's game is going to be!!!

Serleran . . . is this the thing you like about the game??

Of course, I still have another 100 pages or so to find more "wonderful disgusting gaming material" woof, woof - y'all kobolds!

:D

For me, there are a several things to like. One of which is the disgusting and inevitable ways to die. I also like the humor, especially as it pertains to would-be powergamers and lawyers who have their own special kobold hell. And, any game that features the 'bold is a win with me... kobolds are one of my favorite creatures so I enjoy getting to play one, or thirty, in a night.

A game that seriously takes its comedy is a wonderful thing. There needs to be more like it... imagine if Paranoia were a goblin.

One of King Torg's (All hail KING TORG) spies found another kobold cave near your own. There was a sign on the front door. Not knowing how to read he stole it and brought it back to your home cave where the kobolds enlisted the help of a literate Orq ally. After a month of careful study he deciphered these words: MEEPO'S FACTORY FARM.

Since you have so much battle experience, King Torg (All hail KING TORG) 'requested' that you personally should raid this farm and 'liberate' any chickens you might come across.

Feel free to spend your victory points from last game and/or salvage stuff your previous incarnations left behind in the kitchen.

Nice article.

I wonder where Tucker got his ideas as almost all of them sound like Gary's Old Guard Kobolds from Castle Greyhawk and Castle Zagyg.

Aergraith might recall when I threw them at his party when I ran CZ. I scaled back the number of kobolds, because they were led by a shaman, lieutenant and a captain in addition to having corporals and serjeants (misspelling in The Store Rooms book!) all of whom had higher hit dice!

His party were about 6 or 7 at 3rd or 4th level as I recall. They managed to defeat the bastards, but only after wild and crazy combat sessions!

Looking forward to the next game!

Two kobolds are sitting on a log chatting . .

Blob: "Brrp, I'm hungry!"

Brrp: "Me too!"

Blob: "Brrp, would you rather munch on chickens or human babies?"

Brrp: "Ahhh, lemme think about that!"

Blob: "OK, but I'm still hungry!"

Blob: "Brrrp?"

Brrp: "Yes, blob"

Blob: "I have a confession. I really like dwarf babies? Do you think King Torg (All hail King Torg) would be OK with that?"

Brrp: "I should think so, Blob. My, you are rather chatty this evening - what gives?"

Blob: "Well . . . I haven't seen my brother glub in awhile. Have you seen him?"

=)

Thanks so much for playing along. The two of you were quite amusing as Kobolds.

Aergraith and I were talking about Fridays being such a low energy day for him. I think we decided to stop gaming on those nights and I wasn't sure if you had been party to that decision. I hope we can find another day or time that will work because I sure had fun trying out these games that were gathering dust on the shelf.

Yes, the game was fun and I just followed Aergraith's lead. His voices were hilarious and inspired me!

All the games we played were great especially Stars without number.

Perhaps, Sat night might be better. His game was great.

Anyway, turns out I gotsta work Friday night 'til eight - so all is well that ends well.
