I know there was a card game released by FFG called Warhammer Quest. I have not played it or bought it. However, what I did not know until recently was that GW remade Warhammer Quest... and it even has miniatures (51 of them.) It is not exactly like the original, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, though it looks to take some effort to crossover between them (something I will be doing.) This new version feels more like a D&D 4e board game (a la Wrath of Ashardalon or the Ravenloft one) in some ways but I would not say they are the same (for obvious reasons.)
I have hope it may become as fun as its forebear.

No it won't. IMO it looks awful, because it's NOT more like WHQ. My understanding is that initial pre-orders of the game were very strong based on it's resemblance to WHQ, but once people starting playing it, it really isn't like what we remember. Sales have apparently done very poor in the weeks after pre-orders went out.
Setting wise, the game takes place in the post apocolyptic world of Warhammer (Age of Sigmar). Again, another reason for me not to like it.

Re: GW's Warhammer Quest 2.0
After having opened my box and not finding a RPG book inside, a critical component for "infinite gaming enjoyment," which the original possessed, I am greatly disappointed. Factoring the mechanical differences and I am not a fan of this rendition... though I still think it was worth getting simply for the miniatures. Hard to find 50 GW miniatures for a "reasonable" price of $3 each.

Sorry to hear it's not working out for you Serl. We'd all love an updated version of WHQ, but frankly the original WHQ doesn't follow GW's marketing plan. The original had EVERYTHING you need in one box to play, and indeed supported "infinite gaming enjoyment" because it was fully expandable, and fully complete right out of the original box. In fact, the original is probably still one of the best gaming values ever produced by GW in my opinion.
Since GWs market share is shrinking quite quickly, they are producing these new impressive looking board games to bolster sales. Unfortunately, they are following the same ole' GW mantra. The new games looks cool, but they don't hold up as far as I have seen, and Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower is probably the biggest name to let fans of the original down. Not smart GW people. Not smart at all.
