A little disappointed.

Post by WSUJ Steve »

Heya folks.

I'm a little disappointed. Three weeks ago I ordered a stack of books from the Trolls. Shipping time was supposed to be 6-10 games. The books left a week after I put in the order, which puts today as the 10th day. It looks like our postal service is going on strike as of Monday, so it could be a significant (months) delay before I see my order.

I suppose the question I have for the community at large is "is this normal?" Does TLG normally take a week to put items to post?

Clearly the strike isn't the fault of TLG, but three weeks for 6-10 day shipping is a bit of a bummer.

I'm not sure what is typical for everyone, but when I've ordered from TLG I've gotten my stuff pretty quickly. Usually faster than the date they predicted. Hope your stuff arrives before the strike.

Pretty sure they don't deliver on the weekend (this is the local post, not like ups/fedex). So, they don't deliver on the weekend and it's past 6. :(

Well, I can't speak to your particular experience . . but some patience, padawan may help!

but I will say this:

In over 10 years of buying TLG stuff - their track record is outstanding! YeS! Almost as good as Amazon!

The Trolls really kick ass!

Well done, TLG.

And I hope you'll get yer stuff.

You must consider the postal strike. That wrecks everything with regard to TLG shipping.

10 days for an international order is not too bad, though on the long end of things depending on if it went ground or air (usually takes about 2 weeks+ for stuff from overseas to get to me)...and I agree with Rhu. The impending strike has probably left the post there with less incentive to process and deliver knowing they are bugging out soon.

Good luck.

I've noticed a few international orders, including those to Canada take a long time. Once it was the Trolls fault, the rest? Customs? You'll know if your package got inspected.

I suppose I just expected that they'd have shipped out within a day or two, not seven. Would have saved me the several day/week/month delay.

In general my stuff has arrived more or less on time, BUT my first shipment played ping pong between two automated US mail facilities due to an error or damaged bar code for over a week.. it would track almost here, almost returned, almost here, almost returned.. something like seven times and it took weeks for a US delivery.. it was like torture. During my torture I got great advice like your getting and a few short lessons from Arduin too. That was quite an introduction to the game and this community.

Be patient, it will work out, eventually.

"You'll laugh about it later."

So welcome to the fold, think of this as dues?

You appreciate the books that much better since you waited extra long for them??

Does any of that tripe help? (really its trite, but tripe might be better in this case)
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

So, they've still been delivering..

When should I put in a message to TLG? I got the email saying it was shipped on the 24th of June and would be 6-10 days. I DID receive a package containing 2 PHB's but I'm missing the other 5 or 6 books.

I'd go ahead and e-mail Tim or Todd. Trolls do have problems counting.

I sent an email over to Todd and actually got a response this late at night.

So far, they'll look into it, but I am very much impressed with their communication.
