Can anyone tell me more about the newest printing core rulebooks?
I have many copies of the rules, going back to my copies of the first printing when the game came out and running through the green covers printing (3rd?) where I bought the PH and CKG and M&T all to "match." Then I impulse bought the next printing PH at GenCon because the color interiors looked so much cooler than B&W.
Now I'm looking at the TLG store and see yet newer covers. Are all three now sold with color interiors? Are there any changes worth mentioning from one printing to the next? Would I be better off spending my money on other TLG products or buying the latest cover C&C rulebooks?
What say you?

Re: New core rulebooks
If you have the green covers (4th print PHB, 3rd print M&T, & 1st print CKG), those are essentially the same as the newer ones. There has been some clean up/clarification or the rules and all the newest printings are full color, but not enought to make those books incompatible. I swore I wasn't going to get the newer prints after I got the "3 Sisters" set (the green covered ones) but TLG had a sale and I got the 3 newest printings on the cheap, so bought them. I had some many copies of the PHB, that I gave 3 of them away and now only have my signed 1st print and my color 6th print. That is enough for me. So, I'd say that if you are happy with the green covers, no need to buy the newer ones. But, I love the colored printings. I am amazed at how nice they look every time I open them.

Re: New core rulebooks
Yeah, the newest are the easiest for my old eyes to read, aside from the non color printings.
I'd say wait for a 50% off, or better, sale, then buy them. In the mean time, buy whatever else you really want or need.
Don't forget, if yoru a Veteran, like me and a few others around here, the Trolls still honor their old 50% off pledge to us Veterans. You just have to call your order in. I just rarely use it since they often give even better discounts during their sales. Early on I used it, a lot.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
