Ugly gnomes

Post by capmarvel »

This has to be one of the funniest (weirdest?) reviews I've ever read:

I want to laugh, but not sure I am supposed to.
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.
Sounds obvious to me! -Gm Michael

Apparently shaggy, dog-faced gnomes is enough to send some over the edge.

It's definitely a dumb reason to have a beef with what even the reviewer admitted was otherwise an okay game that promised hours of fun.

I never even realized the dog-faced creature in the PHB was even a gnome. The description in the race write-up left it pretty open as to what they might look like, be it dog-faced (like the picture), wearing red conical hats (like the garden variety), or all gigged-up in steampunk gear.

I'm not overly fond of the Trolls' depiction of gnomes, but it's certainly not enough to warrant a 2-star review. At least for me. I guess it was for that guy. /shrug

You want to add more gnome-fusion, look at the picture in the M&T for Gnome.. looks like a cross between a pig and the fat floating man from DUNE (the movie with Sting). Why DID they screw with gnomes? They're pretty well established..
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

The "ugly gnome" review would be like me giving the novel Dune a "2 out of 10" stars because I didn't like the font. Or saying I didn't like the movie Jaws because the color of the tie the mayor wore.

Hahahah! Clearly improper gnome-depiction is a deal-breaker.
