Domesday is back!

Treebore and Captain_K are pleased to reconstitute The Domesday Book fanzine for your reading pleasure and gaming use. Issue VII starts a bit on the dark and deathly side, but is quickly turned. A necrology leads right into new undead, spells, and magic items. Hiding from the light are two fighter variants and one of three ancient mounts rediscovered from the Lost Bestiaries of Atlantis. The material then turns straight to four adventures of varied length and plot. The contributors filled even more pages with new magic items of wondrous history and power to the truly cheesy and five pre-generated characters to use them. Finally, Ancient Engines & Alchemy, technology for Castles & Crusades, characters, and castle keepers closes out the issue. A big Christmas “Trollzah!” to all the contributing authors & artists.

Already have about 1/2 of Issue VIII laid out.. really need art work, pictures of your minis, and we seem to be really short on new spells. Please submit to Tree and I... take the poll too please.

Enjoy your Winter Solstice reading, Captain_K

Glad to see its return and thanks to all who put this together!

A bit of input, noticed that there are numbers inside brackets under several of the images in the magazine, for example, on the first page, under the first image it says: Castles & Crusades – Seriously Old School [13]. Then on the next page, under the Ghoul image I see " [14] ". This goes on and on throughout the rest of the magazine, looks like a minor error that could be fixed.

I like the content I've read so far, haven't digested it fully but do see some interesting ideas that I might incorporate into my own games. I'll post more once I read into it further.

Kayolan, Those numbers are sited references. The references are at the end of the document; numbered. The pdf should have hot links; mouse over the number and your arrow or line should change shape, in my case, with Adobe Acrobat, it changes to a hand pointing . Click or "control click" on the number it will take you to the references at the end of the document. This shows ownership as well as informs you when things have a deeper source you should know about or might find useful. Your pdf reader should have a blue or green "back arrow" in the top ribbon. This will take you right back to where you were reading. Similarly, all the figure and table numbers are hot links with active cross references. If your ribbon does not have the back arrow, install it, its a very helpful feature for reading complex documents with reference you want to note/read as you come across them and get back to reading, all without flipping a bunch of pages.

THANKS for noting you like Issue 7, you're the first! We the contributors are very glad to hear you like it, we spent a great deal of time pulling this together &/or writing for it.

After you've read it, please "review"/comment in the forum, and take the second poll so issue 8 and 9 can be better tailored to your needs. But in all cases, we can only compile what we have so please consider submitting something.

Ah, thanks for explaining that to me, didn't notice that until I got to the back of the magazine. The links don't work for me, maybe it's because I'm using Foxit instead of Adobe. At any rate, I like the fact that it's all referenced, some interesting tidbits there concerning the art.

Glad you liked them. How do you like The MadCartographer's half page fold over? Its quite a set up he has. What level NPC PreGens do you most want in the next issue? We're thinking of a mixed bag..
