Grim setting ~ using WHFRP

Recent Gringnr threads (gaming media-tie in) he mentioned not liking the WH 40K books (but I don't know if that is the same as the WHFRP game and his mention of Golden Heroes (with Mike posting) got me thinking about supers games (don't like 'em so much) and Victorious.

I ran Vict in a grim setting which I found fabulous and I believe my players enjoyed as well.

Anyway, I started thinking about how much I enjoyed playing the WHFRP game many years ago and how much that setting is really GRIM. I mean really GRIM as you who know the game, know the fantastic evil/darkness that is presented in the game.

I'm thinking that so much of what is in the WH game could be "modernized" to the Victorian era for mining and usage in Victorious.

Will read more tomorrow, but I thought I would post to see if anyone has any thoughts about this.

Its probably been about 30 years since I played WHFRPG, but I agree that its setting could be imported over to Victorious in a Grim/Chaos setting. The countryside could be virtually as is, with cities having the factory workers taking the place of serfs.

On a side note, what's up with those depressing Brits? ;)

It's not so much that I don't like the 40K novels, as I've never read them, because the 40K setting never really "grabbed" me (except Space Hulk for some reason). I know next to nothing about Warhammer Fantasy.

Um, have you seen what the mortgage on a free trader costs these days?

For sure.

The more I read, the more I want to run Victorious again with some WH stuff!! :)
