Quick Question...

Post by Julian Grimm »

Hey all,

With the sad loss of my collection a couple years ago I am am struggling to remember how the Primary/Secondary/Tertiary option worked. Could anyone fill me in until I get another CKG down the road?

Short answer:

Humans: 3 Primary 2 Secondary 1 Tertiary
Demi-Humans: 2 Primary 2 Secondary 2 Tertiary
Method One: The choice is, of course, left up to the Castle Keeper and players. One can choose a 50%/35%/20% for challenge base 12/15/18. This is generally considered the most logical approach, and by using this method, one does not alter the game’s power structure significantly, though there is an incremental increase in the characters’ chances for success.

It's an optional rule in the CKG (C&Cs equivalent to AD&&D's Unearthed Arcana).

Anyone try tweaking it not to be separated by 6 points? More like 4 or 5 point difference?

Also, Does anyone else just make everything a challenge of 18 and if you are using a prime, take a +6?
Wow, Another Natural One! You guys are a sink hole for luck. Stay away from my dice.

I always thought off a gp as $1, and so on... seemed pretty reasonable
