Campaign Journals

Post by maximus »

Do you use an official campaign journal? Anything fancy or just a standard rule notebook or pad? Is your journal extensive or just notes to remind yourself what happened last session? I keep pretty detailed notes, thinking at some point I'll type up the campaign I've been running for my son for the past 10 years.

Yes... For years I would send a summary email of events after every game.

Sometimes. The best one I ever did was from a BECMI campaign that ran from level 1 into the 30s. We didn't do the Immortals rules, though I had all the stuff for it.

A couple years ago I did one for our Swords & Wizardry Necropolis campaign. I may be running a group of OSR newbies through Dark Tower when it's re-released next year & I plan on doing a journal for that.

I just handwrite them. More recently I've picked up those leather journals with the deckle paper online to do them. Looks pretty cool. See here: https://www.amazon.com/Vintage-Leather- ... HJ1ZQ&th=1

That looks pretty sweet. I picked up something more mundane as a trial. I should be able to try it out later this week when my son gets in town for Christmas break. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BLG ... UTF8&psc=1
