One of my players wants to have a giant dragonfly as a mount.
Did this creature appear in AD&D or D&D? If it appears in C&C I've overlooked it.
I could make up stats, of course, but I'm just curious if an earlier version existed.

The Giant Dragonfly stats can be found in the Monster Manual II (1st ed. AD&D).
A similar question arose a few weeks ago and a member asked about the Ophidian (also in 1E MMII) . . .
For those of you who don't have the 1st ed. AD&D hardcovers books, I strongly recommend acquiring some - they are easily adapted to C&C and can be picked up for fairly cheap (especially if you are not worried about condition). Plus, they fill in all the "blanks" that might be missing from your C&C books . . . definitely pick up the Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual, MM2 and Players Handbook . . . heck, get the Fiend Folio too . . .

Just for the Flumph steed! It controls just like a backhoe with those two eyestalks.
Getting back to seriousness, I agree with Beyondthebreach. I still have all of my 1e books and constantly refer to them.

Ah.. wow.. I didnt know they came that big? When I think of a 'giant' dragonfly I dont see anything much larger than a critter with the wingspan of a normal sized eagle.
The physics involved in using one as a mount.. sheesh. The thing would be the size of a mid sized passenger plane. ^_^
I can see it now..

On that note, are we able to list the conversions we've done from the early AD&D books?
ie. discuss in detail what stats we've changed or provide original stats in our discussions, etc?
