Making C&C your own...and cracking up.

Post by slimykuotoan »

This' gonna sound absolutely ridiculous, but I actually went so far as to photocopy pics of monsters 'the way I always envisioned them' and superimpose them over certain pics in the Monsters & Treasure...

I think I've finally cracked.

Although I did get much joy saying things like: "finally, 'blank' is the way it should be after all these years..."

Talk about molding the game the way you want it...

That's where my frustration with WOTC has gotten me: slight insanity.

The funny thing is, I finally got my wife to see 'Mazes & Monsters' the other night, so she's been extra watchful...

Not that the artwork in the M&T's bad by any stretch, it's just rather that we often have a certain image of things that we wish to convey to players, etc.

Btw: I'm really glad Gold Dragons in C&C don't look like catfish (3rd edition)

Is that the image you want her to have of our hobby? I remember we used to rent that one on VHS every now and then just for a good laugh. As for the Gold Dragon comment: I thought it looked kinda like a catfish as well. Mmmmm. All-you-can-eat fried dragon.

Ah, me was smart here...she's been playing for a few months now...

I used a 12 for my base intelligence check on this one.

Awesome! My wife enjoys WoW (she did play DDO with me for a while, but just couldn't get the rules; it's based on 3.5 so no surprise really ), and I wish that I could get her to enjoy C&C. Alas, I must be mocked with her cries of "Dork!" when she catches me reading any of my D&D/C&C material. Hmmm, maybe if I could make the purchasing of equipment a much more central part of the game...she does enjoy shopping.

As criminally sexist as this sounds, I have actually had moderate success with this.

Shame on you!

You should have scanned the entry in on the computer and used a little photoshop to put the other pic on!
That's just too funny...

I have cut out all the pictures in my M&T, and have since built a shrine out of photocopies and additional copies of the books, upon which I perform my stabbings of those who dare say roleplaying is a "hobby."

& I thought I was alone in that area... Speak of the devil she just walked by & saw I was on here & rolled her eyes... The shoping thing would work in my house. She hates shoping as much as I do. More so if you count the faci I do like to shop for books, tools, yard stuff, & kitchen toys....

Any picture is better than the 3.e!
