AGP Update April 2007

Post by jamesmishler »

Just realized I hadn't posted this here...

Here's what's currently in the hopper:

All products are for use with Castles & Crusades; all are for the Wilderlands of High Adventure. All AGP print products will be available only through brick & mortar retailers (or online stores that buy through distribution) for at least three months after release; we will not sell directly to consumers, mostly because I want to support the retailers, but also because I simply don't have the resources to sell direct. Every product I'd pack and ship would take away precious moments from writing, which are few enough and far between as it is...

When? I dunno any more. When I get a manuscript finished. Paying the bills comes first, so the day job comes first, and that takes a LOT of my time...
Imperial Town of Tell Qa: Northern Bastion of the Falling Empire

This 16-page town supplement is being given away FREE at participating retailers during Free RPG Day (www.freerpgday.com). It is PACKED with classic-style, sword & sorcery, no-holds-barred urban adventure. And did I mention that it is FREE? Quarter-inch margins and 8-point font mean this is packed with stores, encounters, and information on Tell Qa!
Ravaged Ruins of the Roglaras

This should be the first product offered for sale. It fills a void that has existed since the first publication of the Wilderlands of High Fantasy 30 years ago, i.e., the booklet did not include a Ravaged Ruins segment for Campaign Map 1 (now Map 5)! It should be 64-pages filled with ruins of all sorts, from hovels to vast cities, for the Roglaras (Campaign Map 5), plus new magic items, spells, and monsters.
Goblin Warrens of Ukrak Morfut or Demon Tongue Temple

One of these will be the first completely new module published for the Wilderlands since the closing of Judges Guild more than 20 years ago. Both are designed for 1st to 3rd level characters.
Citadels and Castles of the Falling Empire

Like Ravaged Ruins of the Roglaras, this fills in the void of the missing citadels and castles of Viridistan. Another 64-pager, filled with castles, citadels, towers, forts, and all sorts of strongholds of the Falling Empire and environs, which can be used in that region or easily adapted to any other, or to any campaign setting!
Gazetteer Series and Judges Cyclopedias

The first will probably be the Falling Empire, though I might go with the Roglaras or Southern Reaches first (Southern Reaches has never been done). Also under consideration is a large Karak gazetteer, though that would take a lot longer to complete. I also want to get in a Monsters & Treasure and a Book of the Unknown Gods soon, too. And of course, there's the Psychic information, too, which I want to bring out as a single book, but might end up spread out piecemeal among various products... Or I might just do that as a non-WoHA C&C product, and release that separately...

I'm considering doing some smaller projects as PDF-only releases, stuff that nobody would ever buy in print, but might as a PDF, as Troll Lords has done with several monster PDFs for Aihrde... mostly cultural and historical notes that get cut from the print products (going with POD only has its limitations on book size, and I tend to have diarrhea of the fingers).

Too many projects, too little time...

Looking forward to the lineup! Especially the Ravaged Ruins; they're good for Wilderlands or just about any world for short adventures.

Keep the faith, JM! We look forward to these products, and it's always nice to see a update. Yes, it's a long hard road to travel, but just keep up to date with the products a little bit at a time and soon enough, they'll be done.

Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I'm another really looking forward to the line up. The delay is actually kind of nice for me right now, I've got so many RPG things lined up that I'd hate to have to ditch them mid-campaign to hit Wilderlands.
