Alright Serl, I'lll take secretary which you seem to have missed in the list of military positions. BTW standard positions are President, VP, Treasurer and Secretary.
Alright everyone out there.
I want your contact info in full...and that means emails, phone #s, , arrea code, addresses, state, country, zip, email address...the works. So fork it over.
We should compile a master list of gamers by lastname/first name.
Screw the title crap. You play C&C so you're all kings as far as I'm concerned.
Let's just come up with a master list of everyone's real names and current locations. That's how RPGA started and it worked for them so it's good enough for us too.
The first person starts the list, the second person quotes it and adds their own info in aphabetical order by last name/first name. And we keep going that way until we have everyone on the list. Then we discuss dues. If we want the troll lords to kick us a deal on products, we gotta throw 'em a bone. A few bucks a piece is a great start if you ask me.
Enough putizin around with this Crusader org. If we're gonna do it, let's do it right...with progress, not false promises.

Hey Brian . . . since you're being nice enough to volunteer, I might suggest contacting Fiffergrund, as he should already have all this info from when we went through this exercise last time.
Just a thought and good luck.

My info is in with Fiff. I want to wait to do much else until Serl makes a post. And I don't think dues are a way to go.

Agreed. Fiffer does have a lot of this information already, and that I'm not so inclined to have everybody's personal contact information being forwarded endlessly across e-mail servers.
It's time to give Fiff a ring.

I was going to use the names/ranks as presented by Sieg. The Society is not meant to mimic a modern interpretation of organization (so, no "presidents) and is supposed to be a part of the RPG experience, so titles and titulars that are appropriate to that function are desirable.
About getting the C&CS information, I must find Fifergrund and obtain the password, since it should be all stored in the C&CS email account, or, at least, in a file of some sort held by him. However the "title crap" will not be abandoned as there are reasons for it; this does not mean one is not equal to another or that special preference is given.
As I've said before, and restate... I am not a webguy. So, if we want a dedicated site for it, we have to decide what to use for that, and which direction to go with it. We also need a way for all officers to communicate, preferably with a given date/time so Society issues can be hammered out. For this, some IM program is probably best... I only use Yahoo and MSN on occasion, but never on weekends as I am not at home.
So, fellows... we need that info. It is #1 on the list of things to do.

I've e-mailed and PMed Fiff before and got nothing. I think getting the info to you is going to be up to the Trolls. Then it's sorting it out and Seeing who all is in the roster on file and who we need to add. As well as address changes etc. It's going to be a pain so I see this being a team effort of two maybe three people.
As fpr IM I use Yahoo exclusively but rarely have it on. And if I do I am Invisible.
PS: As for my title. I think "Julian Grimm, Lord of Ravens" fits.

Okay, I PM'd Fiff about the master contact list for the C&C Society.
I'm determined to follow up on it until I secure a copy. Then we'll see what we have to work with and what we can do with it, other than printing it out and making paper cranes.

Before the stoning begins, I'll quickly post...
First, Steve is right. I e-mailed him a while ago and said that due to several personal issues, I wouldn't be able to give the Society the attention that it deserves. I had several ideas that I was excited about, but they fell by the wayside when life interfered. I asked to talk to him about the possibility of handing the reins off to someone else, either in part or in whole. We back-burnered the discussion due to other issues and simply never got back to it.
So, here's my cumulative apology - for promising something that it turns out I couldn't deliver, but for also failing to communicate that sooner.
I received Brian's PM and I'll be getting the information he requested to him this evening, in some form. I also wished him good luck, and I want to pass that along to everyone volunteering here. I also want to give Serleran a pat on the back for starting the thread and breaking the inertia. I'm sure everyone working on this will be able to do the Society far more justice than I.
Oh, and my title should probably be "Knight-Errant."
Fiff

Thanks, Fiff. Your service to the Society is appreciated, and thought of with respect. I hope your personal life sorts itself, so you can take a more active role, if you desire, but until then... may the Crusade live long in your heart. Oh, one other thing... you still have that copy of Crusader #1? I remember talking to you about it at GenCon a few years back... I'd still like to get it, if I could, since I don't have one.
Brian... let us know when you have the C&CS information.

I'll sign up - the Storm Queen of Chaldis (Belinda Kelly). For players, do we put in people we run regular games of C&C with or people you've coaxed in for a one shot?
Wishlist:
A sort of enworld-type site, where we can read reviews of C&C adventures/products and rate them.
A wiki, for all of those random ideas floating around to be organised in the one spot. Could be part of the above site.
Starter/demo packs with pregen characters to run in game fill-in nights or to demo the game to people.
A C&C advocacy program.

It's good to see the ball rolling on this again. Kudos Serleran for jumpstarting things and thanks Fiffergrund for putting in all the leg work to get us to this point.
Screen names Cuchulain. I usually go by Morty; pappy named me Kevin Morton
My C&C Society title is Baron Cuchulain of Temerion.
The Temerion Guild consists of myself as the CK and known as Mad Maddy or Brun Bellyshaker when I play.
Dan McNeil is Ghork Grindaxe or Sir Mycki
Collen McNeil is Copperfield Mephisto and Eaglefeather
Tim Morton is Rockheart or Padfoote
Rodrigo is Evander the Purple Mage or Glum-Grim.
Nicole Califf is Tall Tella or Jess the Mouse
If the Rolls are updated, I'd prefer my title to read Baron Morty of the Temerion Guild.
I'll get my group to send some emails in for their knighthoods.
My email is Morty69@sbcglobal.net or Cuchulainkevin@aol.com
I'd like to add that Sieg's titles for the officers look good.
Dan also does some webdesign and programming, so if you need some help with the website I'll volunteer him.
Peace
Morty

Concerning the website, I think it behooves us if there is a way to allow browsers (ie, those seeing the page) to Join automatically, with a few clicks and data entry. We don't want to make it difficult, nor do we want to make it easily Hormelled, so some sort of "verifier" needs to exist. Obviously, we will want links for downloading, notably the Domesday Book, but the web version WILL NOT have personal information; I don't believe such information should be made publicly available.
As to Storm Queen's wishlist.. I agree. Can we get started on some of this? I think the Wiki is probably the easiest.
One question, though: what, specifically, do you mean by "C&C advocacy?"

Hmm, we page? Might a suggest a forum driven site instead? I run one for Midnight right now and you can check it out on www.againsttheshadow.org There is a main page where I post news items (which are actually in a forum where people can reply to them), a downloads section, articles section (I turned those on the site features there) and the forums itself.
The site is made basically with three things, SMF (Simple Machine Forums) a free board software, TinyPortal (a mod for SMF that adds downloads section, articles and a front page, soon gallery and a few other things) and a Visual Verification (SMF mod that adds captcha for guest posting and other actions and has reduced spammer numbers to zero).
The theme there does not fit the crusade site, I am certain, I would say CnCPlayer.net has a better group of colors for it, imo.
Problems are: hosting, I do not know if there are any free SMF hosting around the web, a domain name (I would say CNCSOCIETY.NET is available, so it might fit).
I could work on it if you guys don't get anyone else, but I can't pay for the site hosting right now (being unemployed and all).

The Keeper's Den does have a nice crisp look to it.
Wherever it does settle though, I hope for no dark backgrounds with light letters. I hate that. Really.
