The line between technology and reality blurs and your stood, standing, at the front door of your house, on the inside mind, and are attempting to open the lock of the door with your car door unlocking remote.

So how long did it take before you realized the remote wasn't broke?

Hmm, maybe it's not a problem with a bluring of technologies. Maybe there was a momentary glitch in the matrix.

My three year old handed me an unfolded map the other day and told me to "shut it down Dad!" I don't think he'l have any trouble growing up with technology!

I once sat and complained about how my kids are always snatching up my car keys and how I can never find something when I need it for 15 minutes straight. And got even more annoyed when they sat and laughed at me.

......and it was then that I realized the keys were in my hand.

The funny thing is just the other day I was entering my house, arms loaded to the heavens and thought, "Damn, it'd be nice if I could just click my key remote and unlock this door!"

Yep, done that myself. Of course, why the house blinked and beeped at me, I don't know!

Demon infestation, plain and simple. Head down to the local tavern and hire a party of adventurers to come clear the place. That's your best bet.

My "old" moments usually come when I head upstairs to the bathroom to get some tylenol, allergy medicine, stomach pill, whatever and when I get there I stand there for a moment thinking:

OK...I'm here for a reason....I don't have to pee....Oh! Gotta brush my teeth! (Why that, I don't know, but it is ALWAYS my answer) I brush an extra 2-4 times a day due to that.

I'm at the other end of the problem. I've alway driven an OLD truck or jeep, no push button thingy ma jig. I go to get something out of my wife's car & take 5 min & set off the alarm twice.... She, of course, rolls her eyes & says something about suprised they let me go to combat as much as I do... Talk about hurt machismo!

At work we have electronic badges that we use to open the electronic locks on the doors. I can't tell you how many times I've stood at the front door to my apartment, badge in hand, wondering where the badge reader was.

Today I put the corn flakes in the plate, picked the chocolate (powder, I like to use that instead of sugar), opened it and got milk, then instead of putting the milk in the plate all over the flakes, I put it inside the chocolate pot, just a few drops before I realized what I was doing.

I laughed at my own stupidity after that. I guess I am also old now.

Heh, well I'm old but don't feel it yet. I can still kick my nephew's ass in tennis and he's half my age. I use a power mower, but not propelled. My fencing skills are sharp, but not at competition level. I can still juggle a bowling ball, basketball and tennis ball.

But most importantly, all my appendages still work!
