GAMA Trade Show

Post by jamesmishler »

Well, I'm back from the GAMA Trade Show, though still recovering...

A good show this year. The Bally's location was absolutely perfect; excellent hotel, excellent restaurants, located right on the strip, and the exhibit area was just right, with enough room for expansion down the road.

If only more retailers had shown up... but that was a one-year drop, due mostly to Games Expo, I think. And there were plenty of retailers to go around.

I was there for Gaming Report, and posted several news pieces from the show. Not much news, really; the big things broke before the show.

I also brought along pre-production copies of Tell Qa to show some folks. Response was mostly positive; the only real complaint I got was on the font size (8 point), but that's what ya gotta do when you are fitting 28,000 words on 16 pages!

Of interest on the boards, I got to hang out with (and give copies of the pre-production product to) Steve Chenault from Troll Lords; Joe Goodman, Harley "Known Realms" Stroh, and Chris "Castle Whiterock" Doyle from Goodman Games; Chris Clark from Inner City games/Hekaforge; and Vicki "Mother of All Treasure Tables" Potter (a.k.a. Cassandra on the Necro boards) from Tabletop Adventures.

According to Harley, "Any product that lists the slave price for babies is cool with me!"

I gotta put that on the back cover...

Very cool. Thanks for the update, James. Looking forward to seeing/reading Tell Qa!

About time someone made a real decent slave trade system. I hope its broken down by race/gender/age/condition. :) That would rock all over the place.

Welcome back from GAMA.

GAMA Trade 5 years ago was pretty good, but now that the show is on The Strip, wow... that would make the CON that much mo' betta. Kinda stinks that their wern't a lot of companies, but from reading JM's updates, there seems to be some good stuff going on at the show still.
