Would allowing magic items to make stats Primes be too powerful since it is effectively a +6 to saves and all checks related to that specific Prime. Especially when combined with Rings/cloaks/items of protection that add to ALL saves?
This came up because of a discussion I had with my players/family about the Girdles of Giant Strength and why wouldn't they make Strength a Prime. Granted for fighter types who normally have STR as a Prime, and most likely to use the Girdles, wouldn't benefit, but Paladins and Knights would, and so would most other classes such as the Thief (why does it feel good to write thief instead of rogue? Post Traumatic 3E disorder?).
Was C&C numerically designed to allow for such magic items without ruining the balance?
BTW, I also want to comment how it feels good to have the sword of sharpness back (Feather edges sword/weapon), the potion of longevity,
Prime Magic Items?
Prime Magic Items?
Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I have defintely considered this. I have yet to implement them in the game, but I was thinking that an object like this might be an artifact level item, or at the very least mega-powerful.

Prime magic items? One word comes to mind...artifacts.

Gotta agree. The traditional "don't go beyond +5" certainly supports this as such an item would give the +6 advntage of a prime.
I like reiteration.

It depends. Does it actually make the attribute Prime, for everything, or does it only allow the attribute to be considered Prime for a few things? What does it do the attribute is already Prime?
I have many items that grant bonuses to specific checks or allow the character to be considered Prime in Stat X for certain types of rolls, but none that outright make the stat Prime...
