Kubla KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNN!!!!!!!

Post by BASH MAN »

Well, I got back from Kubla Con yesterday, and had a lot of fun. I ran 2 pickup games of C&C in the open gaming room. People were very impressed with the speed with which they were able to make characters. In fact, if I had them make their character during combat, I placed them in the initiative as soon as they finished. It usually took 1 round.

4d6 drop the lowest, in order switch any 2.

Equipment: +1 weapon, +1 armor and "standard" gear.

Everyone began with 13,000 xp, meaning all were 4th level (except the rogue at 5th, whose back attack on a troll on her first round saved the party).

I ran a module that I bought there at the con, not a C&C module, which worked just fine with C&C.

Lots of fun was had by all, and I think there may be a few new crusaders out there as a result. Too bad the Trolls weren't there to sell them PHBs

I tried 3d6, re-roll 1s in any order. That seems quick and produced slightly above PCs.

Sounds good. Glad to see people are getting to experience the game through actual play. Best way.

So sorry I wasn't able to join in your game, but I'm happy I was at least able to say "hello"!

And yes, it was sad that the Trolls weren't there and that there didn't appear to be any C&C stuff anywhere in the dealer's room (even with the new Wyrms book being out which I wound up buying from my FLGS instead).

Oh, well.

Great con, as always, though and I can't wait until next year!

Interesting. Is this tougher to handle for a CK; since so many abilities and special skills are available to character classes after 3rd level or so?

Not hard at all. For one, I am used to D&D 3.x, and C&C characters have hardly any stuff to keep track of by comparison.

2nd- I have the CK's screen, which was very useful, as it gives a breakdown of abilities given to classes by level.

By any chance are you referring to Necronomicon in Tampa, Florida? I go there every year and would love to play in your game.

Since I couldn't make it this year, I'm glad you gave the Trolls some exposure. Usually, I'm the one running C&C while you run BASH. Glad to see C&C didn't get slighted due yo my absence.

Yeah, Last year I ran 2 C&C games on the schedule (one in Young Player's room and one for adults-- Palace of Shadows), and had 2 BASH! games on the schedule. But that left me no time to play anything other than what I was running!

So this year I decided to cut back and run just BASH! in the scheduled games (I sell hardcopies of the books to people that enjoyed the game, helps to pay for food, etc at the con), but when I saw no C&C on the schedule, decided to run it in Open Gaming for about 8 hours over the course of the CON. It was great fun.

Cool to hear!

I didn't realize you live in Davis. I live in Vacaville. Got any C&C games going on in Davis that needs another player?
