For me, I think I'm gonna use the old Manual of the Planes, and perhaps the Wilderness and Dungeoneer survival guides...

Hmmmmmmmmm...I think I might have to get Sticks to Snakes and Striking from D&D Expert. Maybe MMI, II, & FF for more monsters. Particularly of the Gygaxian "Hey, what's this? OHGODSAAAAUUUUGH!!!" variety.

I used the B/X rulebooks for monsters for quite a while waiting for M&T and then until I got it. Worked fine.

I use pretty much everything from 1e as refernce and sources for ideas. From 2e I use Tome of Magic regularly.

Not including monster books, I use the AD&D 2nd Ed DMG whenever I am unsure of something in C&C as a guideline (like the underwater combat rules).

I will allow people to take kits from the Complete Bard's Handbook, Complete guide to Humanoids, Complete Fighter's Handbook, etc from 2nd Ed AD&D.

I allow people to play the Elf class from Basic D&D Rules Cyclopedia, as well as the halfling class and the dwarf class if they want to.

I have set Yggsburg in Mystara between Darokin and Karameikos, and so allow all the Mystara sourcebooks to be used (like the different country books, like the Emirates of Ylarum, Principalities of Gliantri, etc).

Defined by your question, I really use no other D&D book as is, as I modify all of then to one degree or another, with the possible exception of the module Keep on the Borderlands which I have used several times now with zero modification or note-taking.

I am currently using campaign creation information from 3.5 DMG and DMG2. I am using the 2nd edition monster's manual and attempting to find my Dungeon Builder's Guide from 2nd ed.

The only non-C&C books I use "as is" would be the Judges Guild Ready Ref Sheets and the Necro/JG Wilderlands box set. I use quite a bit of D&D and non-D&D stuff with minor tweaks (change AC, disregard 3e-isms, etc.)...

Books used regularly:

1e Monster Manual I/II, Fiend Folio, DMG

B/X for racial classes

Books used occasionally (includes some non-D&D):

3e Wurst of Grimtooth's Traps (Necromancer Games)

3e Eldritch Sorcery (Necromancer Games)

GW 4e Core Rules + Treasures of the Ancients for weird monsters & mutations, robots, tech artifacts, etc.

Darwin's World d20 - Terrors of the Twisted Earth + Metal Gods (as above)

edit: my memory isn't the wurst, but it's not the best either...

Used so far :

- 1st ed Deities & Demigods

- Planescape products (core box, planes boxes, Great Modron March campaign, etc.)

Planning to use, someday :

- Ravenloft Domains of Dread + Van Richten's Compendiums

- Living Greyhawk Gazetteer

I'm currently enjoying reading the "Demons" series from Mayfair Games (Demons, Demons II, Sentinels, Denizens of..., Apocalypse). It's extremely cool as an complete cosmology, but very uncompatible with Planescape. I shall run an alternate-multiverse campaign someday...

I won't be running a full game until towards the end of summer, but I've got these at the top of my "stack of stuff" while I'm building my castle and dungeons:

DMG 1E - Tables and tables of stuff that is relevant regardless of edition

DMG 3.5E (don't laugh) - the trap section is worth the price of the book, although I don't think I can use them entirely "as is"

Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog

Dungeons (Task Force Games) - I don't use the random system, but the room descriptions are a gold mine when you hit a mental block.

Not 100% as-is, but I'll be using the following mostly 1E stuff (except for the setting books):

Books:

DMG

Monster Manual

Monster Manual 2

Field Folio

Deities & Demigods

I'll probably take a few pages from:

PHB

Unearthed Arcana

Wizards Spell Compendiums

Setting stuff (in the Wilderlands with some additions):

Player's Guide to the Wilderlands

Wilderlands Boxed Set

City State of the Invincible Overload (hardback)

Hollowfaust (from Scarred Lands)

Plus I'll be using a variety of 1E modules and DCC modules.

Hmm... I cull ideas from the following 3.x books primarily:

FFG's Legends & Lairs series

Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed

WOTC's Unearthed Arcana

I also use a lot of AD&D material for my C&C game from everything from rules, to critters, and magic. I've also run various adventures pretty much untouched converting certain things on the fly.

I use a lot of the 2E monsters. Just the right power level for my tastes, most fo the time.

Same with mqagic items and spells. Even though I use 3E spells almost as often.

As I'm designing adventures for this weekend's Free RPG Day, I have pretty much also used the 1E DMG with virtually zero modification. The 1E DMG is a total idea generator, that needs no modification. A few magic items, I'm using exactly right out of that book too.
