Pathfinder #1
Its supposedly going to begin shipping today. Assuming my copy ships today, then I will also get the PDF today.
I'm getting kinda jazzed. Hopefully it will be as kickass as I'm hoping.
Anyone else here been anticipating this as much as me?

I don't know. I'm looking forward to it, but not to the point where I check to see if/when it ships. So I would guess your more excited about it than I am.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Its too bad you don't have a "set schedule". I play in one SKYPE game a week, another every other Sunday, and I run a SKYPE game every Monday.
Plus my home games with my wife and kids. I run C&C and L%R, my daughter runs L5R, my son (oldest) runs C&C, and my wife is running a C&C game. So over the summer I have been gaming pretty much every day.
How old are your kids right now?

My kids are 4 & 6. I've been trying to work with my son (the 6 year old) on gaming, but he still possesses the 6 year old boy restless leg syndrome. He has the interest in playing, but the sessions have to be kept rather short or he begins to wander. So, right now I just keep him familiar with gaming related concepts and play miniature games with him.

Its probably still a "little too old for him", but have you gotten into Heroscape?

Heroscape is fairly decent. You can read the rules and written scenarios at their website. I find it at my local WalMArts all the time. The expansions I have had to get at Toys R Us or online. WalMart rarely has the expansions. I think I have found a total of 4 of the expansions at Wal Mart.

HeroQuest is not cheap, especially the single expansions (Barbarian and Elf) which go for around $200 each. If you're trying to get HQ for less than $50, you're going to have a hard time finding it, since it usually starts at the amount. Its an incredible game, and fun as hell.
Of course, if you get it, the next step is to advance to Warhammer Quest, and then, the price jumps up even more -- all those little miniatures and cards and expansions (full board expansions and heroes and the like) but it also has the benefit of being able to use everything Games Workshop makes (or, made up to its release.)
I'd offer to help you out, but my fiance would kick my nuts, since the copies I have were gifts (she bought the US release and the UK release, but we're still trying to track down the Euro-Advanced HQ box because it is much different than the US version.)
Anyway... umm, about Pathfinder: not anticipating it, but I didn't order one. Looking forward to a review or something to decide if I should try to get one, or not.

Let me know what you think about this, guys. I don't really want to convert more d20 but it has sounded interesting.
Damn i wish someone would do something like this for C&C.

I meant the whole Pathfinder idea. From what I know it sounds like a bit more than a module. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I thought it was an adventure path via subscription concept... It looks cool but nothing I'm ready to buy into just yet.

What, release a module? Heh, doesn't TLG do that?
How about releasing serial modules....on a monthly, or predictable, or any sort of regular schedule which would allow for running them together....without having to wait 3-5 years to have the series complete.

I think that HeroQuest is an excellent tutorial for kids just wanting to learn how to play RPGs.
1. It's a simple game.
2. It's a visual game. (Miniature monsters, little doors to open, spell cards, skulls and shields on the dice)
3. It teaches cooperation. (I tell my kids that it doesn't matter which characters live or die -- as long as at least one character gets out with the goal accomplished the whole team wins. Character death isn't as nasty when you play this way.)
Find the game. Pay what you need to on e-bay, but get a copy of the basic game even if you don't bother with the expansions. I think it's worth your time and cash.

Oh, like The Haunted Highlands?
And, Finarvyn, I could not agree more. HeroQuest is worth getting, for many reasons... even just the PC version (yes, that's right, the computer version rocks just as hard.)

No, like Cult of Yex and the "A" series, put out in a timely enough fashion as to be run as they come out. Not give them a two module headstart and then totallly have to redo your "campaign plan" because they take 4 to 6 months to get one module out.
To the point where I have totally scrapped my "plans" of basing my camapign on the "A" series, and will be finishing out my campaign with ohter modules, from Goodman games.
While it is good that I finally have a reason to use Goodman Games modules I haven't run yet, it would have been much nicer if the Trolls could have gotten the "A" series out in a time frame friendly to a gamers play schedule. I could have done once a month games sessions and still have the same problem.
At least "Axe" is finally coming out.

Yeah, I'd like to run the A series but will not do it because of the slow release schedule for the modules. I'll probably run it some day, but at the current release rate for them it probably wont be for a couple more years.
I agree with JG. I'd love to see something similar to the Adventure Paths for C&C.

I bought A1 and liked it but held off on buying more due to the waiting time between mods. And there have been alot of really cool things by various companies for D20 and I was also wishing that we could get some of that on the C&C side as well.

Working on my house rules document now. Wanting to have it ready for character creation tomorrow. I hate working on crap like this.
One thing I am doing is taking the bonus feats from the Pathfinder Players Guide and making C&C abilities out of them. I'll let each player choose one of the abilities for their character at character creation.
Still really looking forward to getting this campaign rolling. Cant wait to see what the party composition is going to be as well.
Probably going to incorporate a few new things into this campaign. Antonio's skill progression, GameMastery Critical Hit Deck, maybe a few other things as well.

That's why I like you DD. You can find a use for anything in your game.

This game will be a bit "higher powered" than my usual. Not so much higher powered I guess, but more skill intense, utilizing Antonio's system for the CZ secondary skills, plus the free ability granted to each character.
Here's an example of what I'm doing with the Pathfinder Bonus feats, switching them to C&C as a bonus ability:
City Born: You grew up in Magnimar, Korvosa, or Riddleport, one of Varisias three city-states. You are educated and well informed on the news and needs of your home and hold tight to the knowledge that your city-state is unquestionably greater than the others. The frantic bustle of the city has honed your reflexes and you gain a +1 bonus to all dexterity based saving throws (traps, breath weapons, spells such as fireball, etc.)
In addition, you receive a secondary skill from CZ: Class Options & Skills based on which city you are from.
Magnimar: Suborning Ability
Korvosa: Bullying
Riddleport: Swindling Ability

DD, quite excellent! This is exactly the same approach I am following in my Conan games. I defined the various human "races" by appropriate choice of Secondary Skills. For example, Stygians choose Esoteric ability, while Cimmerians choose Woodsman, and Turanians choose Nomadic. It works marvellously well, and it is waaaaaaaay simpler than the miriad bonuses that 3.x uses to characterise a race.
