A timely dispensation of errata!?!?! I'd much rather have incorrect information.

I think the point is that they put out a product that needed a page of errata to begin with, and was so easy to find it became a page long within a week.

In other words, why can't a multi million dollar company do a better job?

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

True, I've been using WOTC as an example of why TLG shouldn't get criticized for years. If a multi million dollar company with dozens of employees and at least a half dozen editors on staff and the top writing software and people money can buy can't do better, why should TLG?

Yeah, errata is unfortunately a fact of life in the RPG biz. As long as it isn't insane, I don't see it as something to gripe about.

Especially if a company is actually putting errata out instead of ignoring the mistakes.

Yeah, it is all over, like a 3e grognard talking point. I think they must blog about it. When I hear it repeatedly from folks who never played the game, I lend no credence to it's validity. It's just hard to take seriously.

I've played 1e, 2e, 3e, 3.5e and 4e. I prefer 3.5. 4e doesn't seem like D&D to me because they got rid of the Vancian magic system. The classes are radically different. The monsters are as well. It does kinda play like a video game with the powers and characters been able to 'slide' out of turn based on other characters actions.

Familiars are no longer 'default' for wizards and the game is nearly incompatible with other versions. Meaning its extremely difficult to convert. Fighters are not proficient with plate mail. You don't add languages based on your Intelligence modifier either. Just a few things I don't prefer in the game.

I've played GURPS and the Hero System and the d6 (Star wars) system as well. 4e is a radically different system as far as I'm concerned.

I'm looking forward to Pathfinder. I have the C&C books too but haven't found a group in my area.
