Wulfgarn, I think your solution to the "Strahd problem" is very ingenius; however, if I remember correctly, Strahd's lady really didn't like him all that much. I believe she was supposed to marry his brother and bringing her back might not solve anything. But it is worth a try.

you have to admit, if you just get him to let you return him to humanity he would be MUCH easier to deal with.
Plus, the novel came out well after this module.

I am about 90% sure I'll be available this Thursday. There is a small chance Thursday will turn into a travel evening for me. I'll certainly keep everyone updated.
I hope to have my character posted tomorrow. I'm still hoping to get some assistance with the Staff of Resurrection. I'll follow up on this tomorrow.
Quoting myself, this almost feels like I'm stroking my ego....
Well, bad news on my side for tomorrow night. Thursday did turn into a travel day for me, so that means I'll be on the road Thursday night racing home with the hope of making the session, traffic permitting (NJ to DC during rush hour). I'm fairly certain I'll still make it, it's just a matter of when.
To add another negative note, my schedule today and tomorrow are so damn busy that I don't anticipate having the character 100% complete (I'm about 75% right now).
Just updating everyone with my status. If people are up for kicking things off next week, I know I would benefit with the delay. Having said that, I'm sure everyone is excited to get started, so if I'm the only one creating problems and needing the extra time, please ignore the delaying idea. Could always use tomorrow night to talk strategy as well.
Just a thought. I'll be there. I just can't promise my character will be fully clothed and on time.

I'll repeat myself.... my knowledge of the Strahd storyline is very vague. Now, having said that, chew on this idea.
Building off of Wulfgarn's creative idea, let's take it a step further. What if we performed the True Ressurection even before entering the castle? I had always took Wulfgarn's idea to be an offer to Strahd. Wouldn't the offer be more powerful if his true love was already in our company? It would certainly be a powerful bargaining chip and an interesting way to approach the module. A curveball for Treebore I would presume.
I reread True Resurrection and don't see any obvious reasons why it wouldn't work (provided the casting check succeeded).

I thought of that as well and was going to drop it on the dm in session
The only problem is wether the True ressurection will work across planes, and whether we know about her at all...
How much do "We" know about Strahd... its a meta game point...
Also on another note- Tree Can I make a staff of ressurection - I understand that I would need the help of a Higher level cleric to aid in the placing of the spells - but the rules on item creation say that you can work in tandem with another caster , or donor...
Also How much is a Helm of Opposite alignment?
Martin out
OH- group I would be willing to possibly risk some con to make you an expensive item...
If I have any left once I am done making my items.
I also wondered how much we'd know in-character about Strahd and his story. Obviously, we traveled there specifically to kill HIM, so we must know something. But how much?
Also, how are we looking, clerics, on the expensive magic items? If we don't need all of my 12k, I'll use it to beef myself up some more.

Aside from my audio issues, I agree! Here's hoping next time I can avoid playing the mute.
On a more surprising note, I was surprised at how easily Strahd gave into our proposal when we showed up with his true love. I really expected it to be more difficult, but love conquers all I suppose! Now that we've removed Strahd from the castle, all we need to do is finish with the cleanup effort. Fun times ahead!
Great negotiating skills guys, can't wait for the next session!
Your ploy with having the duck disguised as a Jesuit priest was BRILLIANT! I daresay it was instrumental in setting the scene for the entire diplomatic process. If Tree doesn't give you bonus XP for that, then he's meaner than Strahd used to be!
The question remains: How are we going to lug out all of the loot? Martin's carpet is built for speed (and Love). It doesn't have Stow-n-Go seating.

Hahahaha. Too funny. That carpet is worth every gp he spent on it in its humor value alone. I felt like I was in a plane with Captain Wulfgarn's constant loud speaker updates on his flying altitude.
Although, I am disappointed that you wouldn't let me have my fun at the other groups expenses for more then 10 minutes (actually, 8 minutes to be exact)! Damn you and your prompt replies!!!

Hey Wulfgarn. Are you dual/multi-classing? I'm just curious how you got to AC 23. Since I'm playing a wizard in my game, I just want to make sure I don't miss anything.
Thanks,
Rhu.

This is your captian speaking : we will be crusing at a low altitude in a effort to avoid "Bat Strike" which has been a problem round here since time began. I would have the stewardess send back a bottle of aged wine - but I've already drunk that, and started on my whiskey as we are not like to see the next dawn.....
If you look out the left window you can clearly make out Castle Strahd and the likely resting place and or eternal unrest of our souls
Good luck and happy flying --- just remember I have a carpet of flying and a teleport scroll and I am not afraid to use them....

Rhu,
Did you get the memo that Wizards are allowed to buy +5 defensive items? IE +5 Bracers, +5 Ring of protectin, +5 Amulet of Natural Armor?
Only Wizards were allowed to do this.
Yes, of course. But that doesn't answer the question. He didn't take up to +5, because he spent boat loads of money elsewhere on scrolls and potions, which is great.
So back to the question on AC ~ 10+3+2+3+2 = AC 20.
How did he get 23, unless it's a type?

The Bracers, Ring, Amulet, and DEX give him AC 20, then the Staff of Power gives him +2, so he is AC 22, not 23.

Yes, a +3 Ring of protection would make the 23 work. Obviously you hope to stay out of melee combat. You better be right.
