Society Update?

Has there been anything done on updating the Society, or creating the updated Domesday Book? Also, have any details on the PbEM Airdhe wargame been made available?

I'm just curious. If we, that is, those in the Society, can do anything to help... will you let us know what it is?

Hi guys -

I had a significant computer problem a couple of weeks ago. I was able to restore a lot of data, but the database where I contain the Society rolls was corrupted. Steve is resending me the pertinent information, and when that's done, I'll begin the process of reconstruction of the database.

Once that's done, I can move forward on other plans, but this is really a case of one step forward, two steps back.

As soon as any requests sent to CCSociety@gmail.com are added to the database, I will send confirmation notices.

Good news. I managed to find a raw data file with the information I need in it. I don't have to wait for Steve to resend it, now. I will rebuild the database and we should be rolling.

Expect a response by the weekend. I'm trying to get rolling on this again. It might take me a while to get caught up, but I'll get there.

Once I do, I'll open the floodgates for submissions to the Domesday Book.

Indeed, and that is why I think we have such a good Society / community. People are ready, and able, but more willing, to aid in the ways they can... plus, we've got lots of IT specialists, so if we need something technical, someone can do something about it.

To date the benefits have included unanswered e-mails and a whole lot of nothing.

As for the future, well, I have some ideas, including the contests mentioned in my announcement at the top of this forum.

I'm nearly caught up. I need to enter some new members, and then I need to do some work to my database. My original design was this beautiful complex thing, and I scrapped it and went back to the basics. I'm going to fill in some of those complexities now that things are pretty stable.

I'll get a list to Steve and he can get it to the webmaster (or I can, either way.)
