What setting?
What setting?
What setting are you most interested in seeing adventures for? This isn't just out of curiosity, it's "research" for some projects of mine that I may share.
Of course "totally generic" simply means a location that can be easilly placed in any setting without too much work.
Note: I didn't ignore the Wilderlands, it just isn't a viable option for me.
Thanks for the input.

Well as far as the indicated settings go, EASTMARK is my choice. Personally, I love the setting and would love to see it expanded from inward out. Most settings now days have the top-down appraoch to the setting. Yggsburgh and the Eastmark could take that in a different direction by building outward towards the rest of the setting.
I think that is a neat concept. Plus, I just happen to like Yggsburgh and the EM a great deal.

I was planning on going generic...but in the end, generic simply means my personal setting, hopeing that the details can be changed enough to fit in other peoples worlds. I mean, generic is pretty hard to achieve since you will always have specific details like town names, god names, social class structures, culture structures, ect.
I keep looking at the old TSR adventures and thinking...OK, these all took place in Greyhawk...but I never even realized it. Of course I was a kid then and didn't need the consistancey I need now as a more "mature" gamer.
Generic. That way it will likely be easiest for me to use no matter what setting I am using over the years.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

I voted generic, although I like both Eastmark and Airdhe (sp?) and have bought and will continue to buy materials published in those settings. If pushed to choose a setting, it would be Wilderlands or Greyhawk first, I guess.
Setting doesn't matter too much to me, except when the setting departs in meaningful ways from the traditional D&D tropes; for example, Eberron doesn't hit the right buttons for me - I'm not hating, mind you, just saying it's not the kind of fantasy setting I'm used to nor is it the kind I want to adventure in. Plenty of others love it, and that's groovy for them.

I'm looking at submitting adventures to Crusader, so if it's a published setting it should be the official TL ones. I'm not a fan of The Wilderlands or the Known World of Goodman Games anyway.
A very thought provoking thread, but tough to answer. I favor Airhrde, but now have loads of material (this was where my vote was cast).
CZ and the Eastmark have tons of adventure and then the 24 Yggsburgh expansion books are coming out.
I thought about generic, but from your comments, this might tend towards your home brew and so I might not be interested.
So, Aihrde or Yggsburgh/Eastmark would be most interesting for me.

Ah, my setting is awsome (it's really a rather small area of only 50 x 50 miles, but it is placed in a much larger continent nd world...although that simply serves as background). You would be suprised how many decades worth of adventures can be placed in such a small area. I've been playing in it and refining it since 1981.
But seriously, it's hard to do something totally "generic" unless instead of naming things you simple say, "A town of population 1,000 next to a small lake" or "a god of war" or "placed in any mountainous region". It might work, but could be awfull dull to read.

I got ya. The town/environs/adventure would be your creation, but one that's generic (to a campaign setting) or one that's easy to fit into any world.

Ah yes, good choice. The Huanted Highlands should have been included, but to be honest, we know so little about this setting with what has been released thus far.

haha, funny situation. grubman, you should post a small write up for you setting so you can include in the poll above. Heck, people around here love to read other people's work.

Actually the whole Gazetteer is already written up and the layout and illustrations done for another old school system (the retro-clone game Labyrinth Lord which is basically Moldvay/ Cool Basic/Expert D&D).
The Troll Lords arent interested in another setting (via a series of articles in Crusader) so Im currently thinking about submitting the various adventures for the setting instead (made generic of course). To this effect, the publication of my setting is in limbo.
LL gives me more freedom to do my own thing as far as self-publishing is concernedbut C&C has a larger fan base (and who doesnt love to share with more people?). Both are excellent games, so I figure Ill win either way.

I'd like to see stuff that will port into Bard Games old Atlantean setting.....not that that is hard considering most things can work well there....

I am now a huge fan of Aihrde. My current group is playing a campaign in the Blacktooth ridge/Botkinburg environs and it is a blast. We're also running a side game in the Darkenfold.
Beyond that, I'll shamelessly once again promote my own setting, available free at the link at the bottom of my sig.
