Syndicating TLG's blog

Post by ephealy »

Has TLG looked into syndicating its blog? This would give people with Live Journal and Word Press accounts the ability to subscribe to it--making it easier for us to read your blog.

I'm not sure of the mechanics of it, but Jeff Grubb and others have set it up. It might not be too difficult.

That assumes there is a regular schedule of blogging...

Greetings and welcome ephealy.

Great idea.

And serleran's comment means that the Trolls need to write more and keep it updated (I think).

Maybe this idea will get them motivated. Come on Steve and Davis. Hey and how about the other behind the scene Trolls?? Maybe they can do some blogging??

How about guest blogging?? I'd sure throw out some verbal vomiting just for the fun of it.

Bring on the Troll Blog!!! Yeah.

I know others might disagree, but I'd rather see the Trolls writing product rather then blogs. Just saying.

Heh, blog writing takes only a minute or two, doncha know? Sorta like posting on a gaming forum.

Type, type, bang keyboard, barf, type, grin, type more crap, drink coffee, take breath, type, more crap, chase cat, type, refill coffee, type and voila ~ blog.

I'm not so sure about that. I've been able to link into three blogs on blogspot from my Live Journal account.

- Esoteric Murmurs (not updated since Sept 28th)

- Matt Forbeck's (regular posts, but no real schedule)

- Jeff Grubb's (same)

I think it's just a co-branding thing...

I don't follow blogs, but if I were to do so it would have to be updated at least weekly. The Trolls have a hard time doing quarterly.

The blog is one of those things that languishes too much. I get the spirit once in awhile but usually get overwhelmed with stuff. Aztecjade has been hollering at me a bit to get it back in gear and is holding the coming product viewer over my head to bait me into blogging more.

I'll ask Breakdaddy or Mcbain about syndicating, they will know the hows and whys.

Good idea though!

Maybe you could have a group blog, and let all TLG staffers/freelancers post on it? Peter, Aztecman, Davis etc. That would up the news rate. There's a blogger feature that will let you do that.

It would be a scary thing to allow me to blog... they don't want that. Trust me.

Someone up here mentioned that the blog entries need only be short pieces, well, I think I"ll ride that train for awhile and try to do that every day or so.

Blog entry posted.

*chuckles* Well, there's one person who actually reads my Livejournal ramblings, I don't think it would be wise for me to post my genuine thoughts publicly...

So I figured it out...

In your Account Settings area, click to "Settings > Site Feed."

Easy enough.

Let me know when you have it set up, and I'll syndicate it to Live Journal for you, so LJ users can read your blog from their Friends pages.
