Cinematic rules for CnC

Post by anglefish »

Some ideas from other optional d20 rules that can speed up play.

Mook Rules: Treat the minions like minions! From the Star Wars d20 rules, NPCs can be given a glass jaw by giving them only 5 hit points. If you use critial hit rules, then a crit is an automatic K.O.

No hit points: From several Green Ronin projects and WotC Unearthed Arcana this rule creates a new savings throw, Toughness. Damage is no longer a dice range, but a modifer to the roll.

How bad you fail the roll gives penalities for being Dazed or Injuried. If player rolls two different colored d20, he'll have his To Hit and his opponet's save in one toss.

... The rule meshes with another cinemeatic rule from GR, Conviction or Hero Points, that let a PC recover from a Toughness roll as well as other things like re-rolls, bonuses to Attribute checks and the like. Both are featured in the Quick Start rules at http://true20.com/files/True20_quickstart.pdf

... always steal from the best.
