I have been working at a "cross" between Lejendary Adventure and C&C. I called it Lejendary Crusade. The basic is the SIEGE engine, while character development follows the LA framework. It allows to use the C&C monster and spells "as is". It has worked nice until now. WITH GNOMES AND HALFLINGS!

Even if it is great, I don't see myself buying yet another game, while I still plan buying Yggsbrugh and CKG.

I'd have to see it first. But it sounds interesting.

Sounds pretty much like something I've been working on, except mine is "post-modern / apocalyptic" so there aren't any fantasy races, per se. Just mutants and some humans.

I think its what should have been done in the first place, but keep the halflings and gnomes. For such short guys, you troll lords sure have it in for midgets. ^_~`

Yeah, the Trolls and WotC have a great hatred for the midgets. Even if I don't play them all the time, I like to see them... they are sacred moos.

I'd like the idea. However, I'd need more information first.

Now here's an innovation. I recommend that, if your going to go with an rpg that is classless and, possibly allows for the customization of building whatever, you should do the same thing with races and include a system for building ones own custom types.

That way, those of us who aren't skeered of short people can include them. ^_~`

I probably wouldn't be too interested. I use the Fudge system for my non class-based games.

Oh my! There are more then 2 people in the universe who know about this game?!

With Gideon_thorne's idea of custom building races, that idea seems a lot like the 2nd edition D&D race /proficiency book that allowed you to do that.

C&C "modern"?

Post by Barrataria »

If it were based on the Modern SRD, with guidelines for different epochs, yes.

If it took away any resources (including time used to post on a board) away from CZ or C&C (or even LA, for that matter), no thanks.

i'd be more interested in a P&P RPG minus

- classes

- races

- dice

- books

- pens

- and paper

- monsters

- levels

- equipment

- treasure

- magic (vanican or otherwise)

- tables

- people

Was thinking of calling it Delusions & Drools

Cheers,

J.

Honestly, I am really not interested in new games. I have got so many that I have to put some in storage. And I hate boxing up my games for storage. Nothing says "I won't be playing this game anymore" like boxing the sucker up.

I got C&C (and about sixteen other RPGs just on my bookcase). I'm happy with it.

Modules on the other hand ...

Me too - not to the same extent (I only have around 8-10 games on my shelf), but I don't really need new games - give us modules! (please, and the CKG!!).

Honestly? I'd not be real interested. If I want a system that is essentially classless, I play 3E or RoleMaster - since class is definitively de-emphasized in favor of convoluted skill systems in both.

I like archetypes. In fact, I like C&C, just want more monsters. So where's that 1001 Monsters book?

Don.

Count me among the not terribly interested...

I like classes, levels, experience points, alignment.....even halflings and gnomes, though they are optional to my enjoyment! If I didn't like all that stuff, I'd be on some other forum about now.
The siege engine is great, as is C&C overall. I've got 200+ printed modules and PDFs for AD&D, classic D&D, and C&C. This is my meat & potatoes, and always will be. I like the flexibility of C&C to be a somewhat more free-form AD&D-style game. If I want truly exotic fare, it'll be LA.

Frankly, I'll buy pretty much anything the Trolls put out, because you guys are cool, and I glean something of use from every TLG product... But I'd be unlikely to actually play the game you describe, and would hate to see it slow down C&C production even a whit!
