I mean dont get me wrong, if it wasnt a female asking me if she could maybe play one and batting her eyes just right I would say heck no and get grip!

Though it is a women and well I thought id ask just to see what turned up.

What? dont look at me like that. You know you would do the same damn thing.

Wonder just how happy she would be for a magic bow? hmmm

You mean--you can't mod this on your own? You had to bring WOW here?

I feel dirty.

(Probably a Ranger with some modded animal friendship skills, not too much of a reach here. If she wants to be a [night]elf then--well, how far will she go to get it? )

Well, if you perhaps could tell those of us who don't play WoW, Evercrack and other sorts of online games, what exactly a Hunter class does, it might be helpful.

I have a WoW PH book by Arthaus, I'll give you my opinion later tonight or tomorrow. I'm playing right now.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Well, based on this, i'd say that they're ranger/druids, with maybe a couple of ranged attack bonuses. The book version could be different though.

WOW Hunter excels at ranged weapons, is decent in melee combat, can wear up to chain mail, and can train pets to fight with them/for them in combat. No spell casting as far as C&C rules would apply, would be better to translate their abilities to skills with ranged weapons.

See Antonio? I like the way you think.

Keep it simple.

Or, just a ranger, animal companion (as the spell animal friendship) instead of combat marauder.

Give them only the Ranger attack table. Make them use the Paladin XP Table. Hunter's Prime = DEX.

Weapon Specialization: Bow or Crossbow as a Fighter

Rapid Fire-- At level 5 the Hunter can choose to fire 2 arrows, at -3 to hit each. At level 8 they can fire 3 arrows at -6 to hit each. At level 11 they can fire 4 arrows at -9 to hit each.

Also give them:

Move Silently

Tracking

Hide

They also get a pet. The pet can have as many HD as the Hunter. The hunter can change pets every even level. So at level 2, a hunter can have a hawk, at level 4 upgrade to a wolf, etc. The Pet must be an animal or an animal-like creature (like a blink dog). If the creature has magical abilities, it counts as double its number of HD. So a 5HD Unicorn counts as a 10HD pet...

Or the obverse of the above....make them a Ranger but able to specialize in bow or crossbow as per the Fighter specialization, and minus the Ranger favored enemy. Yeah, higher XP track, I like the idea with extra attacks, and nice thoughts on the combat pet.

I like this one best. If you want a total WoW feel let them also get magical beasts when they have the right HD/LvL. Ie don't limit it to just "animal-like" as Bash suggests, but do stay away from constructs, elementals, and the like. Like a Behir wouldn't be out of line for a WoW Hunter, is what I am getting at.

I'd probably just have her take the Ranger class, let her acquire an animal companion, and maybe opt in for the skill or multiclassing rules from the Yggsburgh book to flesh it out (like a multiclass ranger/druid, maybe, or some sore of animal companion skill).

I must now purge all Troll Lord forum references from my PC, lest my girlfriend see this and get some wise idea about running her WoW Hunter in the next game....
