A game store owner once again

Post by Dristram »

As of Tuesday Dec. 18th, I'm officially a game store owner again! That is the soft opening day of my new game store, Olde World Games (web site forthcoming). You can bet I'll be supporting C&C! I actually really want to push LA as well!

Time for another crazy ride!

Talk to Steve about some of the retailer specials he has. He's had some amazing package deals in the past. Best of luck!

All the best Dist! Coming from a former owner myself, I don't know why you would want to torture yourself... but, all the best in your endeavors. May the first dollar be your step to millions.

Praise be the brick and mortar!

Let us know when you have a webstore, so we can help you out by buying online. How ironic...

Dristram,

Best of luck!
Hope to do some on-line business with you.

I just noticed that you're in Vacaville, CA. I used to go out there all the time on temporary duty back when I was in the Army. Is your store there? If so, I will let some of the folks I used to work with out there know about it. Maybe they can give you some business.

Thanks everyone! The store is located in Vacaville, CA on Main St. downtown. There will be no online store at the moment. First I need to get the brick and mortar part working smoothly. And second, online stores need a lot of inventory. But thanks for the support!
The first day open the store took in almost twice what was expected!

What's diff'rnt about this endeavor and your last? I remember you had some cool stuff in your shop and seemed to be headed in the right direction. Too much inventory in weapons maybe? That's just a wild guess from my foggy memory. I wish you the best of luck and God's blessings.

Heading to ConQuestSac in March. I'll drop in and say hi and take a look around your new digs.

No the weapons weren't an issue at all. I didn't have to pay for any weapons until they sold. The two biggest issues were having too much debt, both personal and business start-up, and spending my profits on growing my inventory. Too much debt meant so much of the sales going to pay off non-tax deductable bills. And spending my profits on growing my inventory caused me not to have the money needed to pay the IRS. So I ended up going into debt to the IRS, which was the nail in the coffin. With this store...no debt and making sure there is money in the bank to pay the IRS. If we do the same in sales as before, this store will be good to go.

Again, best of luck. I'll also recommend K.R. Bougoinne's Adventurer game that you probably know about.

Really fun and there's quite the buzz for it currently. Lots of people were playing it at the Winter Dark II CON.
