C&C Stuff You Want To See

Post by serleran »

Please let me know what stuff you'd like to see. Please refrain from stating the obvious like Castle Zagyg, CKG, and M&Ts (or 1001 Monsters or Gods and Demons.) I am looking more for types of products, rather than specific ones. Gives me something to work on, in what little spare time I have... assuming, of course, you'd like to see something from me, anyway.
Danke.

Hmmm...

My first though was that I'd like to see an extraplanar cosmology book for C&C. To me, nothing says old school like planar adventure. But there's a heck of a lot that's already been done for that throughout the editions that would be easy to use.

So, I'd have to say that I'd love to see a collection of new spells and magic items. Something like The Magister, with backstories to make the items and spells even more memorable.

I agree with Dangerdwarf on the Campaign settings...... I tend to like more "historic" settings but will take ideals from anywhere!

Also a book of variant classes ie a more western style of monk, the witch good & evil versions, etc etc. I know there are some great writeups here but putting them all together would be great.

Cosmos builder by TLG is compatible with C&C. It's quite a read.

Once the CKG comes out I will be happy. I am a sucker for adventure modules though.

Everything else currently planned is all I am really interested in seeing.

Stuff to add flavor to Airhde and Yggsburgh is of interest to me as well. Like campaign specific monsters, races, magic items tied into the setting history, etc...

A 2E/3E Book of the Righteous treatment of the religions of Airhde would be frickin awesome. Even "special" priests, or at least deity specific type spells, etc... would really get my imagination going.

Heck, just thinking about it is getting me going.

Well, technically, I'm already involved with lots of modules, so doubtful to see a bunch of those any time soon (at least written by me)... and, Aihrde stuff I cannot work on, as that is the province of Steve himself, though I could do unofficial stuff. Anyway, thanks for the opinions thus far! Keep 'em rolling.

I would like to see a collection of new spells and magic items also.

An article on giving monsters PC classes/levels would also be good.

1. New spells and magic items are priority one.

2. Creatures (new and old alike) from the Lower Planes would be excellent; although it's pretty much a given that the beasties from 1.0-2.0 can be houseruled into existing formats, an official guide for these kinds of things would be much appreciated.

That's about it. I'm still doing the holding-my-breath-until-I-turn-blue thing for the CKG, but that's pretty much the sole item I simply cannot wait for. The ongoing modules, campaign settings - all of those are much appreciated as they come out, but there's no desperately-needed timetable set for them.

My vote goes to spells, and more "official" base classes. Equipment and magic items would be up there, too.

I'd like to see historical settings for C&C. Such as dark ages Britain, Rome, Ancient Greece, etc.

But I'd also like to see new spells and rules variants.

Guns...guns...and more guns...nukes...and naval battle carriers...

Okay...not really...

But perhaps some Oriental themed classes or books, perhaps for once with the ideal time period placed in the 1600's or 1700's (which is still sort of like their medieval period with warlords, but more recent) which did actually have guns...and naval ships at times to intrude into the ancient arts of warfare.

More interested in the Oriental theme, but the Oriental Renaissance of that time period would be nice to see included sometime instead of a mixture of their renaissance and a period of 1000 years prior to that.

No nukes necessary however.

C&C Oriental Adventures would indeed be cool.

There was at one time a Germanic sourcebook in the writing stages. I believe it was Sieg's project. I wonder what happened to that?

I am a hardcore history junkie. Most of my games run in some shade of a historical setting. I'd LOVE to see something like this for C&C like Mongoose has done for Runequest.

As pertains new spells and items: do you want these to follow a particular theme?

Adventure modules. You could even use them to introduce new rules or stuff. Like, Isle of Dread. It was the "How to" adventure for wilderness stuff. The first Blackmoor was basically Temple of the Frog with rules for hit location and Assassins.

It might be cool to see a grouping of magic items by race and/or class, so that there's something for everyone.

Either that or do a "Magic of Aihrde" sourcebook.

Personally, I love named and historied weapons and armor, with special powers and the like. Sure, sometimes a +1 sword is just a +1 sword, but if you take a +1 Warhammer, name it Niranvil and make it a thing of glittering elven craftsmanship, it becomes a lot more interesting.

If I had to choose, I think besides MORE CZ/YGGSBURGH setting, I'd go with a folio edition of the Haunted Highlands. Bowbe's Haunted Highlands deserves more then just a series of modules in my estimation.

I am hopeful that the Francois Marcela-Froideval manuscripts rumored to be printed in C&C format for OA comes to fruition. Any word on that, Peter (or Steve or Davis or Robert)?

I also like seeing modules, for even if I do not use them, I can glean things from them.

I am most looking forward to the rest of the CZ sector mods and CZ.

As was previously mentioned, more spells and "base" classes would be cool.

Not on my rumor tree, unfortunately, but I don't always know what's going on in Trollville, being some nearly thousand miles away and all.

I am a big history dork too. My fantasy games are usually set in a early 17th century tech level, compete with blackpowder guns. It helps that I build muzzleloaders, so I am quite familiar with there ins and outs. By in large, the rules in D&D (1st,2nd,3rd editions) are inadequate and fuzzy so I wrote my own. Nothin says "Oh, crap" like a line of orc fusiliers toting doglock muskets.

Soooo much fun.

Along the lines of BECMI/RC D&D, I'd like to see some more rules for things like Strongholds and Dominions, Mass Battles, Sea Battles, etc.

Heck for all I know, they're in the upcoming CKG!
