I won't forgive heare, so no wimping out on this one.

For if you're a true roleplayer, then you've had some 'lesser gods' in your history...whether they hath bayed goode or evil.

I'll startith then...

My first godling, was an entity named Shadow: a LE 20th level fighter/magic user/cleric, who rode a nightmare throughout the lands o' AD&D.

How can one get cooler than that you ask?

Well?

Can you deliver?

A human semi immortal Assassin/psionic type that I created with the oft maligned AD&D psionic rules back in the day. My first character in fact. Nearly all 18 stats and is currently around 27th level in both classes.

He's got a soul stealing sword and sits at the center of a web of interdimentional alliances.

.... now I can't say I'm old school but....

I once had a 62nd level spellcaster- shugenja specifically- under the oriental adventures system. (yes I played her from lvl one)

She is immortal and is a celestial creature, and also an earth spirit known as a kami. She spends her time watching over the oriental lands she calls home. And training her spellcaster army to take over gaijin lands (bwahahahah, you know, to bring real...civilization to their heathen lands.)

She can (and did) woop some serious god butt.

My dad has a bunch of good ones under his belt, so prepare for a long post when he finally gets on this thread.

Shadowrn 2nd Edition.

A troll Street Samurai that after a few years and countless Karma later was an unbelievable COMBAT GAWD.
"You think you and your little Panther Cannon scare me?"

No matter what sort of hellfire the GM dumped on the team, he survived when no others did. The lat 6 months I played him as a PC, the GM was seeing if he could be killed (legitly, no cheese). This guy suffered immeasurable abuse in run after sadistic run and while he came close to getting geeked a few times, the troll always pulled through leaving a horde of mangled corpses in his wake.

He became a legend in our games and was the ultimate Tough Guy. I eventually retired him. He's still an NPC in the SR games I run these days. Settled down, became a Fixer and runs a bar in Seattle.

A 35th level AD&D fighter with a flame sword who accumulated more gold than the gods. I declined to advance him to immortal status and instead built an army with all that gold and played Battle System. When Forgotten Realms came out he hitched a ride to the realms and began conquering there too. lol

Champions. My character Randal. He's around 2500 points and is a well connected cyber thief and telekinetic transformer.

First edition Vampire: the Masquerade, I had a gangrel vampire named Lars Axel Grim, I was impetuous and even more rebellious then and had an inept GM. Diablerie (the drinking of the blood of other vampires- a taboo) became a hobby. Justicars (those who punish vampires like my character) fell in battle. Baba Yaga, Aleister Crowley, heads of clans were my prey. The GM just wasn't quite wily enough to make a plan without a loophole a mile wide. With an army of subordinates I ruled the vampire world. It was fun.

My truly most powerful character of all time is probably Grimaryl Atyar, a 27th level Paladin and 22nd level cleric in 2E. He established the Kingdom of Atyar in Faerun and built the Triumverate Tower dedicated to the unity of Torm, Tyr, and Helm. A tower who's design concepts were heavily stolen from a certain tower of high clerics.

He went to the Abyss, with his friends and long time allies, The Company of Silver, to recover the stolen soul of his wife. After 4 tries they succeeded.

He wielded many Holy artifacts of Tyr, and even one of Helm, called the Helm of the Watcher. He was also the caretaker of "Tyr's Book of Judgement."

He also wielded a Holy Avenging Hammer of Tyr called "Tyr's Law".

So combine his magic resistance with his ability to dispel, his combat prowess, his clerical power (including religious political and social influence), his powerful armor and weapons, his powerful friends, the military and economic power of his Kingdom, etc... I would say he is likely the most all round powerful character I have ever played.

Treebore is probably the most individually powerful character I ever played. He is the only character I have ever had become a god (demi god to be specific) by defeating 3 Solars in combat, with like 1 or 2 HP to spare. I would have won much easier if I had resorted to his greatest power right off the bat, but I fought too conservatively and almost lost because of it.

When he ascended he was a 27th level fighter and 35th level mage in 1E. He is also the founder of "The Ruby Lords" and creator of each of their 17 rings. Each ring being a ruby stone with each ring wearers personal coat of arms engraved upon it.

I have had other very powerful characters, like Fallin of Delhumide a fighter/specialty Priest of Tempus. His levels when I last played him were 16th level fighter and 18th level Specialty Priest. Many mages of Thay fell to his weapons.

Then Pakitani Gustovich and Grim, both mage/thieves, and both very powerful merchants with very influential multi national "networks". Grim even went "multi planar".

I have others I could talk about: Dager, Metallica, Ronin, Jade, Callis, Illyanor (1E Bard, very GAWD like), Jalhar Candrell, Rahne, and others, but I'm sure your bored already.

My most powerful character, evah, was Aneirin Allin, an 8th Level Human Fighter/Ranger with levels in Windrider, a Masterwork Bastard Sword, a +1 Short Bow, Gauntlets of Storing....

Oh, to hell with it. I totally overwhelmed, beaten, unfit to show my face...
HEY, Aneirin's horse Avarsharn bit an Ogre to death once. To DEATH!

Oh yes he did.

My most badass character was (is) Rigollo Giles Highgate ~ halfling bard 3rd level (in Skathros' C&C chat game). He was a battling fighter/lover/awe inspiring hero who was always in the thick of things and in front in battle.

He nearly died many times always fighting to the last. He took on dragons, drow, undead and huge spiders among other monsters, and was able to master flying a griffin back. He was a natural born leader of adventurers and just a little bit crazy!

He could cast spells via a magic harp and wield a deadly crossbow and magic sword.

He later wooed and wed the young human cleric Ruth (she gave up her divine calling for the love and charms of Rigollo the Smooth) after retiring and had 3 quarterlings and was crowned a Knight of the Realm!

He has since come out of retirement to aid the Lord Marquis Rhuveinus in the final battle against Unklar and the dark evil forces threatening Aihrde.

There are some truly disgustingly high-level characters in this thread. Wow!

Think my highest I ever played was maybe up to 14th level. Fighter/Mage hybrid class (not a true multiclass) that also had psionics (based on the old AD&D system).

You guys seriously scare me.

One almost feels sorry for the GM in that game of Vampire....

I can barely remember my most powerful character. He was Shasack, a 30-something-th level Magic-User from Classic D&D that actually made it to immortality.

Second-toughest, but most rememebered was Dalon Lionheart, a 16th level cleric of Tyr from a 1e through 2e campaign. He was fond of following his pious battlecries with flamestrikes and blade barriers. Dalon wielded a self-crafted magic warhammer that did a heck of a lot of damage, even with the 1d4+1 base it had back then.

At the end of the campaign, he founded a temple to his god in Shadowdale and retired, though I think he did go up north to the Bloodstone Lands to spread the word of Tyr.

A PC I actually advanced would be Kyal, a 20th level defiler, 21st level psionicist, in Dark Sun. He had just started to get the neat 10th level spells. The DM tried to throw some stuff at me, but it was no good... just walked right through it. This guy was played daily, though, for about 6 hours at a time, and the DM had instituted a rule for 1 XP earned per 1 HP damage delivered (this was supposed to encourage fighters, but I told the DM that it made wizards more powerful; he said he didn't agree, so I showed him...)

After that, it was a PC that was created, specifically, to be badass... a 36th level Immortal.

And, under that, it would be Enoch, a 12th level Ranger in AD&D.

You're lookin' at her. The Bloody Mage, a Viking-bred lass with a solid ruby singing two-handed Sword of Dancing and the ability, among many related others, of making your blood boil. OAD&D, researched blood magic and was psionic as well. She once teleported into a city's vault and carried away it's entire wealth! The DM made her take a third class as a thief! She retired to the Bloody Crag in the Kyrian Confederacy as the Archmage Sanguine, F/MU/T, 27/25/3. She was my first character, losing several points of Con in her career. That's why I insist on one word, no caps for my username. I don't want her getting pissed at me for being presumptuous!
My nastiest PC was a half-orc C/A. I rolled a 98% assassination attempt against my liege lord, another PC, making it handily. The DM ruled it unsuccessful and my half-orc ended up in the service of some creature from the deepest netherworlds of the Abyss. Memory's a bit foggy on this guy, but he was definitely nasty. Got to 7/6, something like that.

My 'most powerful' PC was a mere 11th Level. An Elven mage with a ring of wizardry that doubled his memorization limit of 1st and 2nd level spells. I've never run a PC that got to any higher level.

These stories of 20+ level PCs just seem like the realm of fantasy to me.... Oh, wait... that's the point, isn't it.

Cool thread!

As I was mostly a DM/GM, my highest level PC was an archer (named Redro) based on the old Dragon article. 7th level was the highest character I played until 3e/3.5e when my cleric (Zudrak) attained 14th level in what seemed like no time.

While I loved that archer back then, I prefer playing clerics now.

My brother, with whom I played one-on-one for years as well as with other groups, had a 40th level thief. Don't turn your back on him! That thief was my brother's first character and always seemed to survive on luck of the dice and my brother's sneaky smarts. After we started gaming again in 2000, all he'll play now are dwarves. Hi ho...!

30th Level, Darksun Wizard/Defiler. Part human and part earth elemental, there was no one who could stand against him. Was totally awesome, and unfortunately more evil as the campaign went on. No one could stand against him, that is until some paraelemental storm demon thing, ripped him to shreads while in timestop. Had no idea that this paraelemental storm-demi-deity was immune to the effects of timestop. Ew.

Xander The Powermad, Amber diceless Ended life at 350 points.

Xander was so powerful he twice was involved in a wizard duel that totaly destroyed the world"shadow" he was on because he cracked core of the world in one and released pure chaos in the other.

Xander tried time and again to take both Amber and the Courts of Chaos but never could hold it together long enough.

He finally met his end by draining all the power from the World Fount and was unable to control it. The resulting explosion sent a ripple through time and space that caused Atlantis to be destroyed yadda yadda yadda....

I just managed to roll up Zorro for Aces & Eights. Haven't actually DONE much of anything yet with him, but he's rich, he's attractive, he carries a saber, and he's a rather dashing ladies man to boot.

The wonder of it is he was rolled 100% at random, but I kept saying "How cool would it be if I rolled..." etc, and danged if I didn't keep getting excellent rolls. Good thing the rest of the group was present. But I'll bet anything I roll like crap come Saturday's C&C game.

Now, to see if Claudio can actually do anything with his incredible stats.
