That sounds like fun DavidW. Actually I probably could use a little more time to Iron out my Aces & Eights game, so If your down for running your mystery game once Treebore wraps up shadowrun, I'd be more than willing to push A&8s back a bit, if that's OK with the rest of the group

If people are interested, I can start whenever. Since I'm not currently IN the thursday night group I'm very much out of the loop. I'll check the board from time to time.

Anyone who seeks to join our hallowed brother (and sister!) hood must answer these questions three:

1) What is your name?

2) What is your quest?

3) What...is the rule regarding STR modifiers in C&C when fighting with two weapons?

You have answered the first, but are mysteriously reticent on the second. . And no, I can't figure out what the genre is from what you have posted. But all Thursday night games pretty quickly turn into gory bloodbaths, as our first effort showed so I shall prepare for the worst.

Sounds good though. If Spakman wants a bit more prep time you could jump into it, probably in a week or two. We are just finishing up Treebore's Shadowrun SIEGE.

Set up a 6 week slot where you probably won't have to miss a session.

Do you want to follow on as a player in the future games (Wild West, followed by WWII mixed with pulp and vampires followed by ???), or is this just a cameo?

I might want to keep playing, but that would probably mean dropping out of Tree's Monday (Tuesday) game. Two nights/week are a bit much for me.

Actually, that might work out better. It seems that Tree's game primarily consists of classic d&d adventures. As I've already played many, it's difficult for me to conjure up as much enthusiasm as the game actually deserves.

Can anyone give me an ETA as to when I might start? I realize another game is already scheduled.

Shadowrun is heading towards its exciting climax. Treebore (The Shadow Master, or whatever they call it in this game ) would have to give you the end dates.

After that, we have Spak Man's Wild West Shootin' and Lootin' and Jay's WWII mixed with Pulp and Zombies.

If David wants to slot his "real world people whisked away to ???" in there first, Spak Man is agreeable.

Any of those games strike your fancy adaen?

They actually all do. In fact SR did too, but I was traveling extensively and knew I'd have to miss a substantial number of sessions....too many to be much fun, but I should be ready and rearing for the next.....

Joy, I wouldn't worry about maptools too much. When we switched to maptools (from OpenRPG) I knew nothing about it, and when I ran my first game over it, I knew probably as much (if not less) than you do about it now. The best way to learn IMHO, is to dive right in, and don't sweat the details, a crude hand drawn map (hopefully without phallic caves ) gets the point across well enough and you'll learn as you go along.

anyways, thats just my .02

On a different note, One of my Face to Face groups has to change game night to every 2nd Thursday for an indeterminate amount of time starting Oct 23rd, so Ill either have to bow out of the game for a while, or, if you guys don't mind alternating between games each week, we can do that as well. Ill still be able to host the servers for you, although I won't be around if anything goes wrong. But apart from my sound cutting out, the servers have been running smoothly, so I don't foresee any problems.

Anyways let me know what you guys think about alternating between 2 games and Ill talk to you all on Thursday (oh crap, that's tomorrow holiday Monday weeks always mess me up)

Hadn't we previously discussed switching to Wednesdays because of Titania's classes? Maybe we should go back to that, at least until New Years, if that keeps everyone on board

Titania and I cannot do Wed.

We were going to switch to Wed when we thought the evening class was on Thursday, then we found out its Wed., so we stayed on Thursday.

So we still have the Wed class until December 15th and don't get home until 8 to 8:30 PM PST (11 to 11:30 PM EST).

SR will end in 2 to 3 sessions.

Alternating Thursdays games? I seem to be handling it OK for the Sunday game, so I think I can handle doing it on Thursdays for a while. Any idea how long this would be going on? I know you said indeterminate, but is there an idea of the maximum length of time?

It will be for a minimum of 12 weeks, and by then I should know if the change is permanent or not.

I've told them about this interfering with my online group, but this is the only night available for a couple of players.

So, if things go according to schedule, I should be able to finish off shadowrun without missing too many sessions (only 1 unless the game goes on for more than 3 more weeks) then we will decide what to do.

Talk to you all tonight

Due to circumstances beyond my control I have to cancel the game tonight. My apologies.

I'll try and sign on to see if any prep for Aces and Eights is going on.

Again, my apologies.

Update on the Schedule for the next 3 months or so

Given that Spak Man is going to missing every other session for at least the next three months, this is the proposed schedule for the next 12 or so weeks

Shadowrun will try to be finished in the next 1 or 2 weeks

Beginning November 13th, Andre will be running Aces and Eights on a fortnightly (every 2 weeks) basis

On the "off" weeks, we can have Jay run the Pulp WWII game, or have david run his game, or something else. Like the Aces and Eights, this will run fortnightly for 6 or so sessions spread over 12 or so weeks

Breaks will probably need to be made for American Thanksgiving and Christmas

If davidw and or adaen are interested in either of these, they can post their acceptance here.

After this 12 week period, we will re evaluate, both in terms of if Spak Mans schedule changes back, and if we are getting enough players showing up on the off weeks

we are so not organized but then again life'll do that

all i need right now is player input

what do you want to play

the handsome hero? the sly rogue? the brainy superscientist? or the tough as nails fighter? or mix and match as you like.

with all the usual concept ideas

and when do i start

it can't be this week so week after next is the soonest i can start

if david is ready to go he can

but i'd like to know what type of game it is so i's can come up with a character concept

KAyolan is prepared to run Warhammer for us. I'm fine with that if everyone else is.

I'll just quote myself from the other thread because a) I'm lazy and b) you are right to put it here Jay. We should have the discussion here, not cluttering up Kayolan's thread
Aramis wrote:
As for what's next, we do need to finish up Jay's Gear Krieg. Maybe Andre and Josh want to jump in for that last session or two? Not sure if Brad is interested in non-Warhammer type games.

Just remember, Treebore is in charge of all submarine related tactics. You really don't want me in charge of running the submarine. Trust me.

After that, we are wide open. Whatever happened to Rhiannon running us through L5R part Deux: Nobunaga's Revenge!

As usual, I have many possible games I could run. Although I do tend to remember about half way through my DMing runs that being a player is more fun

Other voices? Other games people want to try?

Games I could run, since I have the rules:

HARP

Aces and Eights (again)

Traveller (Mongoose version)

My daughter said she would be happy to run another L5R.

Yes, I would like to wrap up Gear Kreig as well.

well it shouldn't be a problem

as i've got it ready

in my usual crudely draw fashion though

i've also got my jovian game more or less ready

all i have to do is draw out the deck plans

and that's the key map

since space is easy to draw

l5r seems interesting as does traveller

Sorry to barge in - is there any room in the TNI (Thursday Night Irregulars) for another player?

- see my background here - http://www.naturaltwenty.com/?page_id=2

I can run just about anything although my faves are:

-C&C

-Shadowrun 3rd

-Earthdawn 2nd

-Savage Worlds

-HARP (using Midkemia as my gaming world)

-Fantasy HERO

-HarnMaster

-Warhammer FPP 2nd

-GURPS 4 (usually fantasy but also like Transhuman Space)

-Mekton Zeta

Heck the list goes on and on
Weeknight gaming is the best for me these days so the Thursday night time slot looks great.

Later
