Thanks for posting about that. I've eyed Freeport up before, but a C&C version will make it a must-have.

Interesting for sure, but I'm not sure why there even needs to be a C&C Companion for Freeport (or any game system for that matter)? Freeport is not stat-less and free from mechanics.

Regardless, it would be a definte buy for me though.

While I'm not a huge Freeport fan, I do intend on buying it to support their C&C effort.

Generally, it has little to do with logic and a lot to do with instinct. People are more apt to get something if its tied to a specific, published, system.

I have some old d20 Freeport material, and would definitely be interested in replacing it with the new statless books and the C&C companion. Hopefully it will work out.

Very exciting news, really. Glad to see C&C being picked up by another publisher.

Yes, this is looking to be a very good year for C&C. I'm just anxious to get the boxed basic set for my son and his friends.

Well the relatively new Pirates Guide to Freeport is free of mechanics. It's meant to be entirely descriptive, independent of any particular system.

And then each companion adds the appropriate rules for each system. IE, True20, 3.5E, C&C.

On one hand its great that GR and C&C are teaming up to do Freeport.

On the other hand it bugs me that people need such a book. If it helps them see how fundamentally adaptable C&C is it will be worth it.

This will be one of those purchases to support the home team, since I already have all the Freeport. Which with C&C means I already have Freeport.

I just hope this increases C&C's exposure.

Since its 20,000 I suggest "Captain Nemo" as his title. Beyond the obvious connection, he is one who sails on his own terms and ignores those he doesn't agree with...confident in his journey and goals.

Hey, its a city setting. I'll jump all over it.

Need? No. But it's a nice timesaver. Not all of us have the time to do conversions or create settings.
Plus, with an `official' version, you know you could play it anywhere and have the same material.

Well, thats just my point. After converting a few creatures and spells to C&C I do it all in my head now. No need to rewrite anything.

I agree it sounds complex, but its really easy once you get it.

So maybe this product will show even more people just how easy it is.

True, but note that it's not just a conversion. It's a `companion', and includes rules for things that don't appear in the core. It's not always going to be as simple as `this NPC is a level 2 fighter'.

For example, the companions include entirely new classes. It's tough to convert on your own what hasn't existed before. I mean, if i say, do a conversion of the Survivor class, you can't do it unless you know what it is. Likewise, it'll have an Insanity system.

Plus, i like having it in print. No fuss, no complaints from players that you're screwing them over- nope there it is in print.

I can't wait till the C&C Freeport companion as I always wanted to try it out.But I didn't want to hassle with conversions.
