Congratulations, Nym!!!
I've only had a quick look, but it's very interesting. I'm trying to see where it will fit into my campaign!

A very nice module. I'm impressed with the design - and with the artwork.

Well I've just ran my first session earlier tonight (at long last) and chose to run this adventure. So far it has been a blast!!
Since this will take at least another session to complete, I ended tonights with a devestating battle against Fire Beetles leaving the characters screamin' and bleedin' for more.
Well... all save for the arrogant bard in the party... he was knocked below zero. That beetle sure loved that bard's leg!
For those who haven't run this module yet, be aware that I couldn't find the Fire Beetle in the M&T guide but it can be easilly found in AD&D's MM1. However, there is enough information in the module to run encounters with them without a hitch.

Spoilers below!!!
I've had a chance to reread this module and it's great. One interesting thought came to mind here - raising the dead.
Would the fact that the girl's dead body had been magically preserved in a special glass domed coffin negate the spell limitations - so that she could be raised by a high level cleric?

Hey Rhuvein,
[SPOILERS]
It would be an interesting idea... but who knows what other things magically related were done to preserve the body and with the addition of her ghostly discarnate phantom... I'm not sure if a Raise Dead would work... Besides there are limitation if I remember correctly to how long a Raise Dead can be cast... even if the body is preserved... A Resurrect would probably work
I also don't see why an animate dead wouldn't work!
This is what I chose to run my first C&C game with... The party is still going through it but I expect we will be finishing it off soon. The fighter in party decided to try on the stylish 'belt' hoping it was something else.
If I were to run it again though, I would change the maps... The important parts of the maps are great but there are some stuff I could do without.

I'm thinking of writing up a review of this module when I've finished running it, but I can say that my group is now two 4 to 5 hour sessions into it and probably have another to go. We're having a pretty good time doing it, too.
Before beginning the game, I did about an hour of work fleshing out the NPCs in Waldmitte (which I've situated south of Botkinsburg) and Todesheim and creating a few ones, including the new owner of the Silver Sword, a tough Dwarf named Hamen Hammer. To get the PCs involved, I made the goblins and worgs a bit more intrepid, raiding along the river road and endangering Waldmitte itself. This, along with the desire to help recover the bodies of the murdered couple and find what wealth might exist in the caves, gave sufficient reasons for the PCs to undertake the quest. Because my group has only 3 players right now and all of their characters (a ranger, a barbarian, and a druid) are on their first adventure, I managed to get both Hamen and Clyde the blacksmith - both of whom are fighters - to join them.
The first session was almost entirely spent in battling goblin raiders and role-playing in town. The second, last night, took them into Todesheim twice. Between the two incursions, they managed to traverse about half the cavern. They've encountered plenty of giant insects, a couple of goblins, and opened a door into the kobolds' room for the women and children (which they promptly closed and left, slaughter not being in their nature). The night was capped off by the druid falling into a hole in the floor and landing near the worg stables. After a quick entangle spell and some gutsy gaming, the party managed to wipe out the goblins' mounts before retiring to the surface once again for some healing (goodberries, anyone?).
I think this is a well done module. The maps are complicated, involving a lot of CK help with mapping, but along with the vines and beetle holes all over, they contribute nicely to the feel of the place. There are some holes left for the CK to fill in terms of NPC and monster details, but they're the kind of holes that are fun to fill, and there are enough fun features to make it worth the effort to do so and worth playing. Just make sure your party has some kind of healer along!
Congratulations Nym on a very worthy effort. I hope that we'll see more Dragonsfoot productions from you in the future.

Yes, of course. That was probably what I was thinking of. I just now re-read those spells. Fantastic. I can now have a worthy ending for my young nephews. As the tale was a bit grisly, I had been thinking of some way to end it nicely, so: Resurrection!
I will have a happy ending for those 2 lovers . . . and they lived happily ever after!

A good and happy ending is always enjoyable... depending on your target audience... I was thinking the opposite... a seemingly happy ended which suddenly goes horribly wrong.
We should be finishing up next week... I'll probably be keeping the ending pretty close to the original intent... and I've strung the players along just enough to go for the '3 souls liberated' ending with a bit of dazzle.
Overall, I'm glad I started my campaign with this one.

I've got maybe 3-4 hours left... our first session also showed good promise with mostly role-playing in town. I made the blacksmith even more unscrupulous and gouged the small party well enough out of their funds.
With the brooch they recovered... they more than made up for it.
Keep in mind that, as written, the scroll which can be used to liberate all three souls (in combination with the notes/ritual) as opposed to just the one, is a Divine scroll.
For whoever who runs this, if the party doesn't have a cleric or anyone else who can read a Divine scroll... you might want to make a couple of alterations to deal with the situation accordingly.
All around... pretty damn good mod!

I downloaded this one awhile back. I like the artwork, but haven't had time to read the story line. I will have to find a place to fit this in. We are just starting A0, which will lead to A1. Perhaps I can sneak this one in just before we head off to the Slag Heap.

This is the one I started with... at the time, I had the PHB and the M&T but none of the modules. This turned out to be ideal.

I like the idea of setting this in Erde, it will fit in well with the rest of the "A" series.

There are of course sometimes reasons for a happy ending, Rhuvein, but I must admit I'm more fond of the type of ending Moriarty describes. *evil laugh*
I'm thrilled people are running this and enjoying it! Love to hear what you're all doing with it, too, as far as additions and changes . . . awesome!

Although I am anxious to take a crack at writing another module, and do have some very vague thoughts for one, it's not likely to be coming along anytime soon. Real life and some other projects are taking up much of my time at the moment. 8)

I will add my voice to the chorus of praise here for this module. If I get a chance to run a C&C campaign again in the near future, I plan to use this module (most likely as the second or third adventure).
Well done Nym! And I like the art very much as well (by 'D' from dragonsfoot, iirc).
